Bring back Team Affinity
-
Yeah I was surprised they got rid of it. To remove it was disappointing for sure.
-
@GoozeFn_PSN Ah gotcha. I completely agree. Thanks man. I know SDS won’t change anything but this was a huge mistake. I am sure the player has dropped considerably and at the rate that they are releasing content, it will drop a lot more after the All Star content.
-
95 percent of people on this board really like TA and wish it were cared about. Its one of the few things we all agree on!
I suspect when SDS says "we found people didn't care about the mode" - theyre talking mostly about 12 year olds on adderall
-
@rubicante23_PSN The only opinions they listen to are no life streamers.
-
Agreed. Having just one fairly short TA at the start of the season has left a gaping content hole this year. They seemed to hint on the opening day stream that there would be some sort of similar content to replace it but that clearly hasn't happened, unless their idea of "similar content" is cityscapes, murals and vintage.
-
@dfwrazorback_MLBTS that’s there idea it’s just not the same tho…
-
Yeah…not sure why they thought no TA was a good idea. Only thing I can think of is they pushed all their resources to the mobile game that nobody wants.
-
The problem with last year is that once you reached the All Star voucher, there wasn't much else besides the Finest voucher and the Icon. It was a couple of packs, so it was grind a lot for barely anything.
-
They really screwed us on this one. Since the captain doesn’t evolve or anything and made new cards of said players. We either run the better version or keep the boost.
-
@Dolenz_PSN yeah that is just so dumb!! Like ultra dumb!! Like double dumb!!!
-
@rubicante23_PSN or streamers. Streamers dont want to actually have to grind the game to get the cards for their videos.
-
@JediEl1823_PSN yeah last years sucked too. so bring TA back to how it was in 21 or 23. That was perfect.
They tanked the mode last year, people said they didnt like it, so they removed even more. Now you grind and grind with these theme teams and get a a hand full of standard packs and a few ballin.
-

I can't believe they sat in a room and went "Let's cut TA, some streamers don't care about it...and as you know each streamer represents eleventeen million players. So our whole player base hates it"
-
Agree
bring TA back. -
I've taken to conquest lately, actually. At least it keeps me engaged and it's a really really good way to grind stats for the inning too
-
It was always all about the money. By neutering TA they eliminated free grindable cards and made the mural, city scapes, and vintage programs with most of the cards needing to be purchased to complete the collections.
SDS has fully abandoned “play your way” for “if it doesn’t make dollars it doesn’t make sense”.
-
SDS has fully abandoned “play your way”
I remember laughing my @ss off when they used that as their tagline last year...it was always more like "play your way- as long as it's the way we want you to"
-
Yeah sounds good but doesn’t generate the revenue they are looking for. As others have mentioned it would be super simple to make everything attainable via strictly offline or online play by making all cards sellable and tweaking the stat missions. That would truly make it play your way but that will never happen.
-
@Sarge1387_PSN they should have never said play your way, as it’s a crutch for everything.
-
In what sense? Not sure how it's a crutch...they literally used it as their tag-line and it really wasn't true at all. They never should have used that line, you're right- because they've been called out on it being utter bollocks. I'm not trying to be disrespectful, I'm trying to understand your point.
SDS' problem is for whatever reason they always feel like they need to re-invent the wheel, instead of building a better mousetrap if you'll excuse the engineering metaphor. The switch from Innings and Series to Sets and Seasons wasn't a bad idea in theory, they just implemented it very poorly, to the point where it was fairly widely panned(yes there are some who liked it, and that's fine).
Instead of building off of what works, they tend to erase it and put something different. Removing TA is a headscratcher for sure- there's no reason for that other than a blatant push to the Shop for stubs to buy the collection-finishers. This sort of thing began 3 or so years ago when they had the mass staff turnover and whole mentality changed. It's gaming as a whole and I think we need to accept it to a certain extent...but only a certain extent.
