Playing Forza for 2 days showed me why The Show is struggling

I hadn't played a Forza Horizon game since 3, so I was really excited when 5 came to the ps5. I played it a ton. I bought an Xbox series X last week so I could get 6 at release, and also play some other games on Gamepass.
Horizon 6 is way better than 5, so if you want to just get one I'd wait until 6 comes to the ps5. If you care about the festivals and anything online you won't really get to enjoy much of that with 5 since most everyone already has or will migrate to the new game. They did a really great job with 6. I've been playing it nonstop since Friday.

@aldridg6in_PSN I’m gonna wait for 6 any idea how long the wait will be also what are festivals. Last time I played I was like 10 and only drove around lol.

@Onix_Savage22_PSN Festivals are basically month long programs that give you different cars and rewards. There are 4 weeks with different races/tasks that reward different things, so if you miss a week you basically miss out unless those festivals come back up later in the cycle. They generally do but it could be a while. When 5 got to ps5 they had a voting system in place where the festival with the most votes was the next one up. I don't know if it was that way in the beginning of the cycle, and 6 doesn't have one up until next week.
All I can find is "later in 2026", so I'm going to guess that's November/December to give Xbox users a good 6 months of exclusivity. I could be wrong about that though.

Oh ok that’s not to much of a wait. I’m kinda excited to get it and venture out of my comfort zone of sports games.

I would say the difference is actually fun. FH6 is a joy to play, no matter what you are doing. The Show feels like an incredibly unrewarding job at a company that hates you.

Like how fun is racing against other Door Dashers to make food deliveries? When I first saw you can make coin by door dashing between races I thought it was cute - But it’s REALLY fun!

Maybe I should play some MLB The Show today before Forza enters wide release tomorrow. I still have some Cardinals to Acquire but right now Ozzie and Gibby will take almost all of my stubs. Then I will be up a creek the next time they put a Cardinal in a pack or behind a mode I don't play.

The problem is stubs, Period…SDS simply doesn’t award enough stubs across the entire mode to be able to upgrade your team in a reasonable amount of time. In Forza you earn a good amount of credits for just playing the game. And it doesn’t take forever to save up & make significant upgrades. That makes it fun & the grind feel rewarding. This is how SDS could fix it…Say you load into a game of Conquest - You should get 1000 stubs for a homer, 750 for a triple, 500 for a double…Win the game? 5000 stubs, Lose the game? 2500 stubs…Then just double the values for online play…This would make grinding for players MUCH healthier. There’s simply just not enough ways to earn enough stubs to make a difference currently. This would provide that & players would actually FEEL that they’re working towards a reasonable goal.
Lol this is a completely ignorant post about 2 completely different games. First off stubs for HR? Seriously, how would that even be a good idea? You'd just have people doing nothing but going in against the CPU on rookie and hitting tanks at Costco. This would effectively make EVERY single card more expensive. You'd be paying 50-100k for bronze cards. Next I just completely completed live series collection NMS. Only got lucky 1 pull with judge and collected him. You get sooooooo many packs from grinding it's not even funny. Did the new mural mini season on a 28 game 3 innings on All-star run and by the end had 200 different packs to open. So even if you pull nothing but silvers in those packs thats 5k stubs in just silver equipment and jerseys to sell. Then you end up with 12 ballin packs and get 1 low 400 stub gold oh another 5k just on those. And odds are you will get lucky and get something. So please stop with the complete disinformation, simply because you lack the information or ability to do the work.

@TheGoaler_PSN I’m not even a racing head I’m just getting it for a change of scenery from sports games last forza game I played I was way to young to even understand it.

@The412Smoke_XBL they should not give us stubs for playing a game. They give us a little but this makes us grind for the stubs. I don't want to finish the live series in a week like you are wanting. That does not make it seem rewarding.

The fact people on here complain about "the lack" of stubs prove they don't really play. You can go get this game today start a new account and spend 2 hours just doing programs and have a competitive team up to All-star or even HoF if you are decent. Complaining and comparing it ro a racing game while neglecting to mention that it's not like you start with the best cars in Forza and have to ALSO balance your upgrades and simply say you don't get enough to stay competitive is 100% disingenuous.

Don’t really play? Before Forza dropped, I had earned every pack from every program & mode in DD. I was still like a million stubs from completing live series. Only left to do would be to go full hamster on a wheel and keep playing the same mini seasons over and over and over and over again….That’s a terrible lack of content if you’re being required to either play 500 rounds of mini seasons or to be a fake stock trader 24/7 flipping for pennies. Flooding the game with earnable stubs is the only answer.
