Drake Baldwin was NL rookie of the year….. still doesn’t have a scan. What about Kevin McGonigle? Hes probably AL rookie of the year this year. Still no scan or batting stance. Sal Stewart is also playing amazing probably NL rookie of the year this year and still no scan or batting stance. Samuel bassallo is 6’4” 250 lbs and yall still have him at 280 lbs. no scan or batting stance for him either. All three of them are not only playing consistently but playing solid this year. The lack of effort is honestly pathetic.
Dylan beavers, Edgar quero, chase meidroth, Sam antonacci,
Colt Keith, hao-yu Lee, wenceel Perez, Carter Jensen, Luke keashall, Joey loperfido , cam smith, Bryce Matthews, Bryce teodosio, Colby Thomas, dom canzone, Owen caissie, Connor norby, Javier sanjoa, Liam hicks, Carson benge, Justin Crawford, Felix Reyes, Daylen lile, Moises ballesteros , Jose Fernandez, Tj rumfield, Kyle karros, and Alex freeland have all debuted last year or this year and none of them added. I didn’t think the neglect could get worse than last year but yall proved me wrong. DD is all you spend time on.Ethan Holliday is in DD but doesn’t have a scan for the live rosters?
None of the top prospects like max Clark, walker Jenkins, Eli willits, Aidan miller, Josue depaula , zyhir hope, James tibbs, Ethan Salas, Jared jones, Charlie condon, Jesus made, Luis pena, Jett Williams, aiva arquette, Sebastian Walcott, colt Emerson, Braden Montgomery, Chase Davis, Lazaro Monte’s, Leo de vries, Tommy white, Blake Mitchell, angel genao, jaun brito, Andrew Fischer , Gavin kilen, ralphy Velasquez , wehiva alloy, George Lombard jr…. Not one added but we got guys like eddys Leonard, Braylon Payne, Cole carrig, and Victor mesa jr? 🥴
Cam schlittler, Nolan mcclean, chase burns, Braxton ashcraft, keider montero have all been pitching since last year and are pitching well this year, still no face scans….
Parker messick, Peyton tolle, Connelly early, bubba chandler , Noah Schulz, , Justin wrobleski, Jonah tong, Brandon sproat, jack kochanowicz, Ryan Johnson, Mitch Farris, George klassen, Jake Bennett, jonah tong, jr Ritchie, Robby snelling, Elmer Rodriguez, and walbert urena have all debuted and not one of them have a scan yet.
Liam Doyle, Thomas white, Jamie Arnold, Seth Hernandez, gage wood, Zach root, Kade Anderson, gage jump, Hagen smith, Carlos LaGrange,Eduardo Rivera, and kyson Witherspoon are the top pitching prospects and not one of them was added but we got Brandon birdsell, Ben kurdna, Chase Hampton, and Jackson Ferris?
How about some relievers? Daniel palencia, grant taylor, Erik sabrowski, Anthony Nunez, Justin slaten, Ben Joyce, Tyler Phillips, Cole Henry, Josh ekness, didier Fuentes, Gavin collyer, Elvis Alvarado, Jose Fermin, Juan morillo, Juan Mejia, Brandyn Garcia, Luis morales, Kyle Nicolas, Zach Maxwell, mason Montgomery, hunter barco, Tyler holton, Brant hurter, Isaac mattson, Matt svanson, Jaden hill, Edgardo henriquez, will klein, bradgley Rodriguez, David Morgan, Joel peguero, Ian Seymour , Braydon Fischer, Brendon little, mason Fluharty, Jordan leasure , yariel Rodriguez, Troy melton, luinder avila, Payton palette. It’s been years but instead we get an updated scan of Tyler zuber and hogan Harris and face scans like drew rom, drew Anderson, and Burch smith
And where is Albert alzolay and Josh staumont?Theres no excuse for the amount of top prospects still missing . Your fans and customers deserve better. They’re the future of the MLB and should’ve been last year or before 26 released… do better and stop neglecting everything other than DD. You used to add every scan from the spring breakout program. They were all in the game years before they debuted. if you still did that it would solve the problem of top prospects and missing scans.

This is a common response to these type of topics. However, of the plethora of players that were listed above, I would posit that less than 1% of them fall into the 'I don't want to' category.
I'd be quite certain the rest of them fall into the 'haven't got around to it' zone.
Either player apathy or SDS just not making an effort.

Casey Schmitt too! Dude has played 257 games in the bigs and he’s been the best player on the Giants this year. Tyler Fitzgerald has a face scan but no Casey Schmitt?

Speaking of the Giants, how does Adrian Sugastey’s face scan get updated? I’m only curious because he’s a AA catcher who has never made it past AA and isn’t even in the top 30 prospects list in the organization. Plus the Giants signed him in 2019 for a half a mil so it wasn’t like he was some big name international prospect. Like I said, I’m just curious how, of all the players in the organization, his face gets scanned?

Ever since O'Bannon vs. NCAA, it's been illegal to use a players name, image, and likeness without express written consent.
The players the original poster names haven't given it, so there's nothing SDS can do without violating the law.

I have to disagree with y'all.
It has little to nothing to do with 'player consent'. Although it's absolutely true that players must give consent to use their likeness, it's not the reason for the lack of face scans.
#1 SDS is not constantly sending out employees and equipment to ball parks to get the scans of all the missing players. I'm certain it's too costly and time consuming to do so. Therefore, scans are done in set locations. Which leads to ...
#2 Player apathy. They just don't care enough to make a special trip to go to SDS and get the scan done. If they were there, at the park or somewhere convenient to do so, I'm sure they would. But they aren't going to go out of their way for a vidya game.

My point above about Mike Trout was it doesn’t matter how good someone is suppose to be. They aren’t now what Mike Trout was and they couldn’t get him in the game. It matters if someone wants to be scanned. You struck out swinging on 1 pitch.

You're conflating a player 'wants' to be scanned with a player is 'willing to be scanned'.
I'm sure there are the odd few players who, for whatever reason, do not want to have their face scanned.
The rest fall into the 'I'm willing to have my face scanned but I'm not going to go out of my way to do it'. These players make up the vast majority.

@stinkymcpooter_xbl Do you think scanning players faces is done with an iPhone or something? They showed the massive amount of equipment involved on one of their streams. They’re not lugging that around the country. Every NL team visits San Diego and every AL team is either in San Diego or a couple hours away in LA.
If you think they use the same thing we use for Road to the Show face scan they don’t. Mine looks more like Babe Ruth and if that was the case they can just do it and submit it themselves. Which means they definitely don’t wanna be in the game.
