You people are not playing the same game I am. This game has ALWAYS rewarded painting the black. But now it is calling strikes that are not remotely touching the strike zone. If I can see air between where the ball is marked and the strike zone line, that is not a strike, I don’t care how they’re “interpreting” things. It’s not working as intended. Period.

I haven't noticed anything wrong with it. If it barely touches the strikezone, it's a strike, as it should be. If you are having hard time with it just lay of them and learn to protect in 2 strike counts except with a man on first take the strikeout percentages are higher it will be weak contact and ground into a double play. Trust me you will get a fair share of decent pitches to hit, just need to be patient, which this game highly rewards.

New strike zone penalizes patience on higher difficulties. It was hard enough to take a 102 fastball in, now you're just begging to K looking if you show any restraint. Contact results were already pretty unfriendly at times and this just incentivizes you to swing at bad pitches. Doesn't hurt the cheaters though, they don't mind at all.

The thing i don't like about it is that you can no longer work the pitch count. You almost HAVE to swing at anything close to the zone.

I used to be able to work the count, online and offline, to about 15-20 pitches per inning.

Now I'm lucky to get 10-12 per inning.

Plus, now you can almost throw everything in the dirt and you'll get bailed out more often than not.

@Rhyno1986_XBL it has changed lol. This game should always lean to the hitter. Some of these pitches barely touching the zone they will not give hits. If they are gonna make it like this they need to fix hits that are just late or just early or just late right outside the box. There are some pitches that just won’t let you get a hit and it’s an automatic out.

No it has not. All that changed was the visual representation of the zone. Also you can still get hits on these pitches and even perfects on actual balls. Maybe you just need a little more practice at the plate.

@Rhyno1986_XBL its more complicated than "just visual". There's no variance in strike zone now - it used to be that the same pitch could be a ball or strike (50-50 chamce they claimed). Now its always a strike if it clips zone.

I dont mind the new zone - but the change is more complicated than "the visual box is just smaller now"

While i still think it’s bad, i completed the event today and it’s not as horrible as I thought.

I still think it’s a v weird change to make in the middle of a game cycle- seeing we've become so used to the other strike zone for years

This type of gameplay change should be something that is implemented at launch imo

    @rubicante23_PSN

Exactly… ppl saying this are just flat out wrong

We were used to having a certain eye and not to swing at pitches we knew were out of the strike zone(box)… it’s become muscle memory atp

Now that’s not the case… I just made a post that i played the event a lot today- so i got pretty used to it… it’s not horrible

But it’s still bigger than just being “visual” , and i also think a change like this should be implemented at launch.

Lol we want more accurate baseball. Okay here's the strike zone for real. We can't hit we trained ourselves to not swing at what should have been called a strike. It's unfair lol, you two are just mad you can't adapt. Oh and just for clarity the actually said any pitch 50 in the zone would always be a strike because of perfect umpire but it wasn't. It was a random rng coin flip where maybe it is maybe it isn't and people sitting g there getting walked because the just don't swing at actual strikes. Not you're mad because it is actually true strike zone and perfect umpiring.

@GodShammGod2_XBL so the people who designed the game and made the change and said that it’s just a visual change are wrong? Lol

@Rhyno1986_XBL they will not give you a hit on a high inside sinker that barely clips the side of the top of the zone. Anything that barely clips the zone is most likely an out. It’s mainly anything inside.

I'm not saying the new zone is good or bad. It's just that it cant be only visual if you go from a system where there's a "50-50 rule" to a completely consistent zone (where a pitch in "Location A" is ALWAYS a strike, or ALWAYS a ball).

I'm not sure if this makes the zone effectively bigger or smaller - it clearly feels a bit bigger to me, with pitchers being able to regularly get calls they were not getting before.

I think box should disappear and people should get 2 ABS challenges - it doesn't feel very realistic to me for there to be a "perfect zone"
