The New Strike Zone Is A Disaster That Needs To Be Immediately Fixed!
-
Well must be a you thing because there is nothing wrong with the strike zone, it's the same as real baseball now which is what people wanted
-
New strike zone is amazing! Finally, we will be rewarded for dotting the black.
The problem with the way it was: you make a great pitch that straddles the black. No swing and called a ball. So now you have to try and adjust to bring it inside little more except the game fks you and serves up a meatball to be crushed.
Happens continuously in this game.
Coop last night was great as we were able to pitch ourselves to be competitive.
-
I haven't played yet, but I'm just happy to get some consistency
-
Yeah it's cool and all, but is sds going to require the same number of hrs, extra base hits, etc. For programs and events? If so that will suck.
-
@macdaddy-o_PSN Love the strike zone change.

This new strike zone is a huge miscalculation. In playing games in Ranked online and Mini-Seasons offline, balls that didn't even touch the strike zone were being called strikes repeatedly
#confidentlywrong.
There's nothing wrong with it...this is how it should have been all along. Also, those aren't balls. If you bothered to read the patch notes you'll see they basically said they've implemented the ABS logic, while making the outline of the strike zone thinner. Anything touching the zone even barely by a hair, is accurately called a strike.
I've yet to see anything off the plate called a strike.

100% agree. We struck out looking more...but also it changed out hitting mindset, we need to actually protect the plate now. We're ok with that because it's finally consistent.
Now if only they could fix the check swings, it would be awesome

You people are not playing the same game I am. This game has ALWAYS rewarded painting the black. But now it is calling strikes that are not remotely touching the strike zone. If I can see air between where the ball is marked and the strike zone line, that is not a strike, I don’t care how they’re “interpreting” things. It’s not working as intended. Period.
-
@macdaddy-o_PSN send screenshots if you can cause obviously if it doesn’t touch the zone at all it shouldn’t be a strike
-
@macdaddy-o_PSN I’d love to see screenshots of this, strike zone is perfect for me

You are high af. Go sleep it off bro.

No it hasn’t. You obviously haven’t played online recently.
Screenshots, otherwise you’re full of it.

@rms1980rms_PSN they just shrunk the strikezone square... the pitches being called strikes are the same as before, zone just looks smaller. Hitting will not be any different.
-
But is different for me. Can't get as many hits. Strike out more.

The only thing that pisses me off is when my opponent is consistently dotting the black with guys that I know have a PAR the size of half the strike zone.
Completely unfair and RNG. I don’t think perfect input on pinpoint or any other pitching method cause the ball to dot the black within the PAR.

@I23SAVAGE23I_XBL depending on how consistently they were actually doing it, may or may not have had scripts at play

If that is the case, how are they able to control where the ball goes within the PAR?
-
@sbchamps17_NSW not everyone wanted this. Most people just wanted more consistency. This new thing kinda sucks. But it’s not too terribly bad where it makes it impossible to play. But they need to make it a little more Lenient towards the hitter. Some pitches you can’t hit like a high inside sinker that is legit barely on the line.
-
It was just a visual change of the strike zone size people!!!
-
@I23SAVAGE23I_XBL I don’t know enough about the pitching scripts to tell you that part, but I do know there are pitching scripts
-
@Sarge1387_PSN I actually tried, but It's very hard to take a screenshot when playing someone online because when you freeze the game, you can't get the pitching location graphic up -- unless there's a way I'm unaware of. But, yes, I played the game online last night, and when I did call up the pitch graphic screen to validate what I just saw with a pitch, there were clear balls that were called strikes. It was ridiculous. And not just against me, but for my pitcher, too. And I don't know what game you've been playing, but I consistently (prior to the update) had been getting calls on the black that were called strikes. In fact, some online opponents were frustratingly good at being able to dot them.
