NEW STRIKE ZONE TOMORROW
-
@go4stros25_PSN I agree that strikeouts and/or foul balls will go up (probably not both, depending on the game), though I’m pretty sure the actual dimensions of the zone aren’t changing, so unless the ‘visual’ change ends up affecting how we can move our PCIs I don’t see this being an issue
-
It’s true. Played a MS game this morning and if the pitches touches the box, it’s a strike.
-
@OlSkoolE63_MLBTS yeah this is gonna take some adjusting as of rn not a fan but it’s still rly new.
-
They admitted, defended, and then explained why they didn't actually remove PCI shrinkage in 1 sentence. I just wanna say this is walking a thin line to them being sued for false advertising and statements made by gameplay employees.
-
I’m a fan of the strike zone change, but it will take some getting used to.
-
Is the strike zone change actually removing those weird case of online pitches being blatantly called incorrectly?
Offline at least was typically consistent with the halfway on the black method, with only slightly off center pitches being called inconsistently on occasion. But online saw some angel hernandez nonsense.
-
I’d imagine they reprogrammed the umps for this so fingers crossed @teak2112_mlbts
-
The pitch in edited link is a strike, we wanted true strike zone and we got it, if it touches the zone it is a strike
-
The touches a zone is a strike that yall wanted sucks, pitches we’ve been conditioned to take are now strikes. Outside sinker barely touches , strike , I mean 99% outside. Inside fastball 99% of ball inside, strike. It’s got me all f’d up and swinging at [censored] now
-
@TheJeweledLotus_PSN but the strike zone is also smaller. So really nothing has changed. Those pitches barely touching the zone were probably strikes with the bigger zone anyway.
-
@TheJeweledLotus_PSN the actual problem was the game conditioning us to take those pitches imo. just going to have to get used to not playing for the walk cause it’s not even like the zone actually expanded, but more actual strikes will be thrown (or called) regardless
-
@TheJeweledLotus_PSN Same rules as in real life.
-
@eatyum_PSN it’s just going to be a bit of an adjustment period. The advantage has def swung to the pitcher in a big way now. Need shrinkage out more than ever to balance the scales
-
@TheJeweledLotus_PSN Before today it was so unbalanced, hitting was everything. I don't care if it's swung a bit towards pitchers now.
-
Its not really same as real life - its now a completely perfect zone, where the umps never make mistakes. That's very unlike real life.
-
I will say new zone is growing on me a bit just had to change my approach.
-
I'm getting called out on pitches that are clearly not strikes now. I have ABS off. Are they forcing players to use that now?
What have they done? This is crazy. Here is the first occurrence. It happened 4 more times, including twice in one AB.

I also have never had the 'lineup freeze' until today. -
@TheGoaler_PSN bro do you not watch ball that’s a strike
-
The strike zone got a lot bigger… I think it’s going to favor pitchers immensely and force batters to swing at far more pitches. I can’t imagine how difficult this is for big league hitters. If the seams of the ball touch the zone, like just over the low outside corner, it’s a strike… on a virtually unhittable pitch. I think it’s going to be catastrophic for this game.

But online saw some angel hernandez nonsense.
