They would still need to pay all of those announcers or their estates.

Most people here know that I am a big fan of AI but I also don't think it is fast enough to analyze the play taking place and generate relevant play by play and then generate the commentary using text to speech. Then there is the matter of adding in the proper emotion to the calls.

I would like to either get rid of current announcers or get some new sayings. Tired of the now it’s time with two strikes to someway somehow work your way back in there or garlic fries yo just all around boring dumb commentary and we pay good money for the game for this [censored] commentary lol

The problem isn't the announcers I think it's the way SDS uses them, so no matter who is doing commentary there will be issues.
I'd have a 1 man booth with a studio host and analyst commenting pre and post.
Personally I'd find A.I Vin Scully creepy as hell, lets leave commentary to the living.

@doppelganger39_psn It's what happened with voice actors of TV shows/Movies. For example, Paul Newman, voice actor of Doc Hudson from Cars, unfortunately died in 2008. Instead of getting a new voice actor, they just decided to retire Hudson from the Cars movies.

Checked the comments for the video that announced Chris and Boog as the new commentators for MLB the Show 22, and saw many positive ones. How we have switched up on these guys.

@Player99_MLBTS it’s what can happen when you keep them around without having them record a lot of new material. they’ve worn out their welcome because of it.

No AI. Generative AI is theft. Pay real announcers. Please.

AI is bad. They use clean water that could have been drank by beings. Also it's not the commentators it's how much lines there are, because there should be way more for Boog and Chris by now. Plus how they say it feels lifeless and some of the lines feels wrong. Like for example, the line where Boog is like "OH THIS BALL IS BLASTED, WAY BACK THERE, ON ITS WAY, GONE!" gets triggered wrongfully because then the homerun is like 400 feet but he isn't like that half of the time when there are real moonshots.

I wish they would go with voice actors in a two man booth, get someone committed to plenty of updates and can professionally read a script. As good as Boog and Singleton are IRL they suck at voice acting.

Annoucning in general needs a big revamp. They make comments that have nothing to do with the actual game, like they are just saying stock phrases out of no where. Getting the first hit of the game Ro will say thats the 5th hit of the inning. Just off stuff like that. Can't they use an AI engine to make commentary amazing? Or it isn't that simple? IDK

Not that simple. Cause those are stock phrases and the CPU selects them at the wrong times, RoFlo s commentary is atrocious, but that is less to do with what he recorded but how the CPU selects the comments, it butchers it badly.
