I loved Baseball Stars but to say it’s better than The Show is probably just nostalgia.

The game was better for it’s time, i loved baseball stars but i would definitely not choose to play it over mlb the show today.

After my 2 disconnects in Mini Seasons today, I'd take Baseball Stars. They never disconnected 👍

Only problem now, is the game is 37 years old, the battery in the cartridge to save games is long gone lol.

Baseball Stars was probably my most enjoyable video game experience of all time. Going back all the way to Commodore 64 and Atari 2600. It really was an amazing game at the time. Earning currency and leveling up players was a brand new experience.

This post was a fun trip down memory lane. Who else played against the women's team over and over so more people would buy tickets and show up?

I might not have the correct name, but there was one version of triple play baseball backnin the day, where you started with a tiny sand lot and had to make $ to buy pieces to upgrade and build your stadium. Before the show, Triple play baseball and baseball stars had some really cool concepts that felt way ahead of their time.

You must not remember having to blow in the cartridge and inserting it just right so it would play 🤣

That game put RBI baseball to shame. I still have my orginal Baseball Stars from Christmas of 89 and play from time to time on my old NES. Still plays great (with minimal blowing), no crashes. Only issue is that it wont save rosters anymore. My favorite is still MVP baseball (2002?), I think Manny was on the cover. Another classic was the orginal Front Page Sports baseball early 90s for computers only. For sim it was Baseball Mogul. Amazing what video game competition did for the industry.

@LIONED-33_XBL these are usually really easy to swap out. I had to do it on my og gold zelda about a decade ago.

So as you see - baseball stars was pleasant memories of fun and innovation. Compare that to what we have now.

SNK could have chosen to copy RBI baseball or Bases Loaded with different rosters and they changed the experience via stellar gameplay - always innovating.

Some of you should be playing multiplayer in RBI baseball still.

What they’ve done in MLB 26’ is less innovation, less motivation and more pain in the [censored] Menu navigation.

If they’d have played ONE mini season in pre test or whatever dipshit self server they’ve played on they’d have discovered half the bugs contained in that mode unless they’re completely ignoring everything.

It means they NEVER played a game on a live server.

So what did they do from November to March other than make some card graphics?

    Absolutely nothing.
