Baseball Stars by SNK

Probably the best gameplay, roster editing, probably the best baseball game that got baseball right where MLB went wrong.
Gameplay first needs to be a mantra all of the MLB people grasp in betweeen their 20.00 bills.

Loved that frigging game. Was so far ahead of its time with the slide mechanism and salary/revenue system.

Yeah and that was the 90’s. What happened ?
That is what Franchise should be in MLB the show.
Yet, elipses. New technologies made them create an inferior baseball game when their job is to create a baseball game.
Hmmm

So you are saying MLB The Show should remove zone and remove pinpoint? Just make everything one button? And offline only of course, because the overwhelming majority of gameplay complaints are from online players. Thats what you really want?
Or are you just being disingenuous [self censor because that somehow got by the censoring]
That said, I genuinely think Super Tecmo Bowl is more fun than current madden, sometimes simpler is better.

Definitely the greatest pure baseball game I've ever played. I enjoyed that game so frigging much.

I still have the soundtrack banging around in my head.

I loved Baseball Stars but to say it’s better than The Show is probably just nostalgia.
-
I mean, to an extent of course you're right. But the gameplay worked and we had a clean immersion into an incredibly detailed (for the time) baseball experience.
Maybe the bar wasn't set as high as what we have now, but for the capabilities of the time they really (pardon the pun) knocked it out of the park. -

The game was better for it’s time, i loved baseball stars but i would definitely not choose to play it over mlb the show today.

After my 2 disconnects in Mini Seasons today, I'd take Baseball Stars. They never disconnected

Only problem now, is the game is 37 years old, the battery in the cartridge to save games is long gone lol.

This post was a fun trip down memory lane. Who else played against the women's team over and over so more people would buy tickets and show up?
I might not have the correct name, but there was one version of triple play baseball backnin the day, where you started with a tiny sand lot and had to make $ to buy pieces to upgrade and build your stadium. Before the show, Triple play baseball and baseball stars had some really cool concepts that felt way ahead of their time.

You must not remember having to blow in the cartridge and inserting it just right so it would play

That game put RBI baseball to shame. I still have my orginal Baseball Stars from Christmas of 89 and play from time to time on my old NES. Still plays great (with minimal blowing), no crashes. Only issue is that it wont save rosters anymore. My favorite is still MVP baseball (2002?), I think Manny was on the cover. Another classic was the orginal Front Page Sports baseball early 90s for computers only. For sim it was Baseball Mogul. Amazing what video game competition did for the industry.

@LIONED-33_XBL these are usually really easy to swap out. I had to do it on my og gold zelda about a decade ago.
