Another patch for fielding
-
I’m surprised that this hasn’t come yet. Maybe they’re still determining the problems. I haven’t actually had any outfielders making errors but now I’m seeing balls just hit infielders on weak bloops. It’s pretty sucky that you have to get nervous every time a line drive is hit to the left or right of an outfielder. Also, since fielding will be fixed,Anne remove that animation that makes outfielders who are gold or higher tumble while running. Got Mickey mantle looking like 2011 Nelson cruz

They MUST come out with another patch...not only did the last patch make fielding worse...it made it MUCH worse
-
I love how the player locks on early and it causes them to slow down but the ball still carries and the stretch out and then tumble and the ball rolls farther. I have had more errors with rookie Mantle who has diamond fielding than anyone else I have had on my team since day one.

RIGHT? Re-reading the patch notes, they said they fixed when fielders don’t lock on at the last second, but that appears to be all they fixed. I’ve had fielders lock on a good 5 feet from the indicator and catch it like they’re right under it. It’s just odd that fielding is this messed up. If 60 is the league average, anyone above should be making routine plays 85% of the time and they aren’t.

Ive had fielders not lock in at all after the patch and they just run right past the ball. I had it happen this morning. Devers hit a gapper and grandy and mantle ran to track it down I was controlling grandy and he wouldn't pick up the ball. It looked like the bad news bears.

I had Mike Trout camped under a fly ball, he didn't lock on, but he was directly under the ball (inside the indicator of the ball's landing spot), all of the sudden he starts backing up/stumbling and falls down. I even had my thumb off of the left stick (we were playing in the HHH Metrodome, so wind would not affect the downward trajectory). But the best player in the game stumbles and falls like a little league player on a routine fly ball.
That ended up being a triple and the eventual go ahead run.
I cannot blame this loss on this, I had plenty of other chances to win and I didn't come through. But this did not help.
Every fly ball is an adventure now. -
I love how the fielder then runs around the ball in circles and seemingly cant find it. It's already bad enough that the fielder cant catch, but to watch him run around the ball like a Benny Hill skit, is infuriating.

85% NO WAY, the league averages for fielding percentage is 98%, errors are actually extremely rare the fact a routine fly ball is ever a question in this game is a joke.

Considering how much the fielding is being talked about in the Player’s Tournament, I’d say they will do something.
-
The problems are very evident to anyone who picks up the game. So they either are ignoring the issue or simply lack the knowledge to fix it. And its not like a rare occurrence, its every game. At least in my experiences.
-
I can't imagine they don't know. MLB 19 had a few issues but, by enlarge, had a pretty excellent fielding engine. But if I remember correctly they needed to patch fielding last year around this time also. It'll get fixed.

I could imagine it’s pretty embarrassing for these guys to play on such a game with such terrible fielding. Even the announcer complaining

Honestly I was more talking ground balls. Fly balls I agree should almost always be caught
