Yay random packs are back

Choice would be better, but I don’t think it’s a big deal. Sell them and buy the ones you want.

@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN if it had been like that from the start, there wouldn't be a gripe; however, these packs just started showing up last year along with the excessive amounts of chase packs and other blatant cash grabs. Sds is starting to slide closer to what EA is and further from what made me fall in love with this series.

Random specialty packs with huge pools of players are confirmed to be back in the game. These packs are a clear tactic to get people to buy stubs to get the cards they need on the marketplace. I was hoping these kinds of packs would go away, but sds is doubling down on them.
I don't mind random selection packs when the player pool is small <10, but big pools of players, I get tired of pulling the same 3-4 out of 20+.
While I prefer the choice packs, they gave out these packs pretty freely last you so it was basically sell the player you didn't want, buy the player you do want. Its an extra step in the process, but it doesnt really make you any more likely to buy stubs than choice packs

Imagine being upset at more cards...

Sds is starting to slide closer to what EA is
really? can we not do this? SDS is nowhere near EA and they're not getting closer. SDS GIVES you the best cards in the game simply for logging in and playing. The additional packs are optional....none of those cards are required . All of these packs will be sprinkled into programs/conquests for free throughout the year like they always are. The option to buy them is there for people who dont wanna wait.
EA will sell you a "ruby" or "emerald" card rated 60 pverall and the only way to level it is is to use that trash on your team for 100 games.

As someone who sunk tons of money into Diamond Dynasty in the beginning, this isn't a big deal... you just have to control your impulse... and trust I struggle with that everytime I play a mode like this, especially if I get locked in or there's a stubs sale or a flash sale on packs, I get trigger happy and drop however much to get enough stubs to clear out the store but I have found that if you just play consistently and clear duplicates out of your inventory (having the app helps) you can be very successful at this game and can even have the game give you the stubs to buy these packs and/or players from the market... I've seen tons of people go the "No Money Spent" route and their teams would often times look better than the teams that I "paid" for although I never really paid for my team because I used to rip packs with my stubs instead of going straight to market and grabbing the "top guys" that were on everyone elses team... I just find it to be more fun to build my team from packs vs copying someone else's team because of a "meta"

@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN I’ve never heard a player who wasn’t a .208 hitter with a 7-62 record say this.

@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN Or, in other words, "company tries to get children hooked on gambling to make money."

I think in terms of scumminess among sports games the Show is around a 2 or 3, EA is like an 8.5, and 2K breaks the meter.
Their rates are absolutely atriocious. If Victor Wembanyama and a short PG no one wants are int he same tier, you will get the PG 99% of the time when you pull that tier (which itself will have odds that just say <1%)
They had a card that cost around 5K with average luck in NBA 2K, and WWE 2K is currently screwing over its entire player base, not just My Faction, with their battle pass
I don't like 'loot boxes' but SDS keeps it reasonable, Ive gotten every card in the game that was auctionable as effectively NMS 2 years in a row (ill buy the charity bundle and usually toss a cheap purchase around all star break)

And they patch the method people were using to fly through the battle pass because "It's not the right way to play the game."

Its even more comical, the dev specifically said that its not fun, its circumventing the system.
The same dev responsible for My Faction which has notoriously unfun matches. Its the show equivalent of: pull a chase card, to unlock a moment where you need to get 14 total bases in a game off Randy Johnson on Legend difficulty. Oh but once isn't enough, do it 4 times!

There are choice packs (just like there was in 25) but most look to be random "contains 1/3 player(s)"
The random packs gave me the same cards over and over
