Anyone else borderline excited/not excited for tonight?

I'm excited to actually try some online play this year, inc Ranked.
But I'm not excited to have to deal with the "issues" thst come with H2H play
When watching the multiplayer program part on the stream I was like, Hmmm, then I remembered that it involves people so that ended quickly.
And may the Pack Luck be in your favor!
"And may the pack luck be ever in your favor"
fixed that for ya. -
I'm somewhere in the middle. I can't say that they have me excited yet.
I am happy that Pujols and Carpenter are back and that Mcgee has been added. But Pujols will be out of reach for me most likely unless they release a very late version like they did Beltran. Simmons, Mcgee, McGwire, Pendleton, Beltran, Berkman and Carlton are all starting with cards for other teams, which is fair, so it could be months before we see Cardinal versions (and for several I don't expect Cardinal versions at all).
Add to that a live series that is not exciting to begin the year and I am not overly excited for the beginning of the new game, especially as someone who mainly plays a Cardinals theme team in offline mode.

I was not excited until about 2 days ago when WBC hype was in full effect.
But on the DD stream that happened today, it made me super unexcited because they were trying to hype up the same old lame [censored] gold cards we've seen in this game year after year after year.
uuuuhhhhh gold don baylor...im suppose to get excited about this rehased card? And the girl who was on the feature make it sound like it's some incredible card was pretty insulting.
It brought me back to the fact that the entire DD mode is so tiring and old. same cards, same modes, same rewards , etc..... boring.

@Dolenz_PSN This is exactly where I am, its just meh for me. I'm actually not a big Matt Carpenter fan so I was hoping they added someone else. Just not an exciting player to me.
I would be more excited for more player variety and options other than the same retreads, I'm sure we will see like 20 Carpenter and Nootbaar cards

I'm excited for the game. Not excited for grinding. Gonna play more online this year. Mainly want all NLB cards throughout the year.
-
Im not excited for recollecting the live series collection. However, Im excited for content, missions etc. To me that's fun

I'm actually sitting this one out. Have been playing religiously since 2020, but just not into it this year and think a break will be for the best.
I'll still lurk here and follow guys like Koogs on YouTube just to keep up with things. Might even pull the trigger once the game is 50% off in like September. Still, there simply wasn't anything for me about this new game that moved the needle. The new Legends are alright although underwhelming for various reasons and that's usually a big factor for me.
Hope everybody that does get it has a great experience.

I’m excited for the modding and new P5 system and tinkering with different combinations to see how raises card overalls. This game for me is a much needed escape with all the cruelty going on right now.
-
Something thought of for the future could use a coach boost where have a slot to insert one coach boost card. Hitting, Pitching, Fielding speed.
-
I’m excited for a new game.
I’m not excited that improvements are few and far between.
I’m excited for the new PXP system.
I’m not excited that the biggest voices in the community (streamers) are praising SDS for changes that could have been made in an update last year or that are basically just reverting to how the game used to be.
I’m excited for how multiplayer will work compared to last year.

I'm excited for the new game and starting over like every year.
Here is where it gets me, each year i find myself moving away from the game earlier and earlier. I dont want that feeling. I'm having a procedure done, the big snip snip for us men, tomorrow morning at 8, then I get a interuption free weekend to play....by Monday, i'll have a good idea of the level of excitement from this game.

My hype level is dramatically reduced with the TA news. Content tonight will be fantastic, but its likely the ONLY truly big content dump we get all year in terms of program content.
Some new minor legends I am looking forward too though, like Wally Joyner. Also trying out some of those 40s guys I don't know well when I eventually get them. I'm also considering grabbing Turang, though I will likely just buy 95% of all online cards this year.
Today's stream could elevate the hype level back again, as we haven't really seen the offline content yet
-
I am extremely excited cause I do feel like sds still has a big legend or 2 in the bag that we don’t know about and I’m extremely excited for the overhaul of wbc stuff and the amount of stuff we are gonna have to do right out of the gate this year

The Pitching Coach especially would help out some theme teams that are lacking in relievers.

Red Schoendienst is the one that does not move the needle for me. Give me Carp over him. I recognize he is an iconic Cardinal having been both a player and manager but I
will probably replace him with the first decent JJ Wetherholt card we get.Oh and when I said the live series cards don't excite me I was specifically talking about the Cardinals, whose best live series card is apparently an 80 and a relief pitcher nobody outside of St Louis knows anything about.
I love Gibson as much as the next Cardinals guy but he has been the only Legend pitcher the Cardinals has ever had in the game that I remember so I was hoping out pitching Captain might have been Carlton

Which team got the shortest end of the TA stick anyway? Royals?

I am definitely excited...which i am every year for the new game. Not sure how long the excitement will last, but this game coming out is the symbol that the real season is about to begin, the warm weather is on it's way and spring / summer is near.
I am excited about the new PXP mods and the 9 inning option in mini seasons. Although not sure i will go the 9 inning path more than once since the rewards don't justify the time / effort.
The TA news yesterday really disappointed me and put a damper on my overall excitement for the year. I have no clue why they think 1 TA for the entire yr is acceptable. The themed (all star, finest, etc) TA's they did back in 22-24 were awesome. Maybe they will have "programs" that will almost serve as TA tracks but the news yesterday definitely concerns me.

@Teak2112_MLBTS By name value, yes. Will depend on the stats and pitch mix for some of these guys. Any team with a SP captain that doesn’t have a sinker or at least a cutter/fast fastball is awful.
-
Excited for a new game, but that is where it stops, probably wait a little while to see if my biggest complaint has been somewhat fixed, the bat to ball mechanics(gameplay). Not looking for perfection, not even looking for being it 50% better, maybe 10-15% better. Kinda having to lower my expectations a bit.

I'm always excited for the new season. This year, a little less so, but I'll still be out here grinding away. I get the frustrations many have shared out here, but in the end... it's baseball. I'll give SDS credit for trying new things every year, no matter if they're popular or not (Sets/Seasons, Monsters, DQ, etc.), but at the end of the day, I only care about three things in DD: fun cards to use, lots of stuff to do, and overall gameplay. Also, I still think that SDS is pretty "player friendly". I've always been able to field a competitive squad without spending additional funds beyond the purchase of the game.
This is my 7th DD season and I'll keep going as long as I can (I'll turn 62 this year).
