Kind of curious how far back is a fan base in the forums. I have been playing MLB the show since I was in the military in 2008 station at NTC for Irwin. I would always get the game the first 3 years I was stationed there the day it came out. I remember cuz I would be at the base at PX and the lady always tell me she just stocked the shells right. When I walked in and bought the game I was always the first person for 3 years on base to get the copy..... I've been playing ever since then...

. The very very first edition I played was in 2001 for the PS2 when it was branded under 989 sports and I think Andrew Jones was on the cover in 2001

First one I played was MLB 03 which had Barry Bonds on the cover. They were still 989 studios then. I also used to play high heat baseball and MLB2K. We had much more choice.

I don't remember the first year I played this franchise. I am pretty sure it was on a PSP though. It could thinking it was 07, 08 or 09

I've played every year from 989 studios beginning and on. Started with RBI Baseball and Baseball Stars though. I've always had a baseball game to play since I was a kid. Used to do all my own play by play/commentary before they actually put it in the game.
I'm middle age now but still dream of someday doing play by play of a real game. 🙂🙂

2007 on the PS2, owned some of the 989 games before that.
My first baseball video game was on the Atari 2600.

@Finn_Scotus_MLBTS I'm probably the same age as you ballpark wise. I'm 44 years old. I'm ever playing baseball on the television before Sega, Genesis and Nintendo. There wasn't television very very archaic and also for PC. I remember playing on hardball baseball series along with high heat baseball for PC. But if you ask me my favorite baseball game ever was MVP NCAA college baseball. Those two games are probably the best ever

@Finn_Scotus_MLBTS Brother I will never forget the absolute thrilling joy that I experienced when me and my neighbor first rigged up his dad’s VCR to record our Baseball Stars matches!! It didn’t take us long before we recorded a play by play audio track to go along with some of the recordings. We would come home from school, fire up a couple of games of Baseball Stars and once it got to be about 6pm we would grab the bat and ball (because there was ONLY one baseball in existence as far as we knew and you would lower each other into a sewer if necessary to fetch it back) and head out to this big open field that was nearby and play a neighborhood game of baseball until it was dark thirty….sometimes it would just be two or three of us and others you’d have ten or twelve out there. I never knew how good we had it and I wouldn’t trade anything for it.
