I agree with what I have seen on the internet and social media so far with, why are the graphics still the same. I get it, resolution and some things may be better and tighter and not every year needs to be a graphics jump but come on. I was will to let 25 slide if the gameplay was that good and it kinda wasn’t. Now I have to hope 26 is that good to let it slide? Baseball is my sport so I’m still getting the game especially with the WBC but again, if the gameplay isn’t killer this year then I fear for the future fan base of The Show. I feel like we still get more than 2k and Madden each year but it’s starting to not feel like that and I don’t want The Show to be a toxic cycle like those games are. Please get the gameplay right and modes and please update the graphics this year or next.

Well, the ONLY thing SDS is actually good at is figuring out how long they can squeeze every last dollar out of that outdated graphics engine and once again this year, they decided to roll with the same engine, slap on a few minor tweaks, add some “new” programs (which are basically just a few extra lines of code) to keep the pack-ripping crowd—the gamblers—happy.
Honestly, they’ll probably keep enjoying their near-monopoly as the only MLB game on the market and unless a serious competitor shows up, this cycle isn’t going to change anytime soon.
That’s just how this game market works. -

5?? more like 12-16 baseball games would come out in one season on average

If any of those games were worth buying, they'd still be around. Theres a reason no one bought them..

What baffles me is Grand theft Auto v has a better day tonight transition than the baseball game does. Even if you ever played MLB NCAA baseball 05 or '06. The college baseball game for the PS2 had a better day-to-day transition. Darker shadows longer shadows of the lights of the stadium coming in. It looks so so real and so awesome with that college baseball game. I really wish they could implement that. Currently with weather you know maybe a game starts overcast and progresses into rain. Maybe guys lose fly balls in a day to night transition. Just the graphics are probably maxed out obviously currently on PS5 I mean they do look amazing but what more do people want with the graphics?

It’s not just about whether the games were fun or not—there are bigger, structural factors. The baseball game market is pretty small compared to other genres, but the costs are still huge, especially when it comes to licensing and player likeness rights.
With development budgets being as insane as they are these days, it’s hard for multiple baseball games to coexist and split an already limited market. -

GTV 5 had over 1,000 developers with a core team of 360.
The entirety of SDS's staff, including non-developers, appears to be 250. (Anyone on the team is free to chime in and give us more definitive numbers.)

Okay still but look at NCAA college football 26 last year's game is college level but even then it says day tonight transitions during the game. Yeah so you keep harving on it but still it looks a lot better in dark sunsets, deep shadows players, losing balls and Twilight

@skim3797_PSN I get I’m about to nitpick 1 thing you said here but the baseball market isn’t small. If it was then MLB the Show wouldn’t be a top selling sports game the last few years and a top 15 to 20 game the last few years. The market is there and if the product is good people will get it. Hence why the graphics need a tune up, the gameplay looks good and I like the fielding changes again. Just make it looks peak.

@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN
The reason 90% went into the shadow realm was because MLB cracked down on licensing and put major price tags on agreements. Most companies didn’t pay or couldn’t afford it.
