I have to wonder at this point how much a player on the cover actually moves units off the shelf? The cover art should draw attention but I am curious whether the choice of player(s) makes a difference.

@Dolenz_PSN something tells me no unless it is in the international market. With WBC this year, maybe the standard edition will be Skubal with the Deluxe, like they did 23 with Jeter, could and should be focused on a key player/players from various countries, i.e., DR, Japan, Cuba, etc.

Assuming they won't continue with the 3 cover athlete style, it's going to be Skubal because the orange shade in 26 just so happens to be the exact shade the Detroit Tigers use. Assuming if they do the 3 cover athlete style again, it's gonna be Nick Kurtz mainly because after Aaron Judge got his ROTY award for 2017, he was in the cover for mlb the show 18 so this is likely to happen with Kurtz too, Cal Raleigh or Schwarber and Tarik Skubal.

I still think Skubal has a good shot, with Kurtz as a dark horse candidate.
That said, I think Skubal and Raleigh could be a duo with some play on the pitcher/catcher tandem aspect for catch phrase... "Battery powered!" or something like that. -

I expect Seattle gets a Big Dump on the cover but I'd rather see Pete Rose.
