I haven't played Conquest a lot this year and have never been clear on what constitutes "a turn." So I researched this endlessly on line, asked for guidance on another post -- and still got completely screwed. I was 2/3 of the way through, with only Veteran/All-Star Games left to play after conquering the NL West Coast on Turn 3 and just having the AL Central and AL West left to play on Turn 4 and Turn 5.

Everything I could find online said unless you stop attacking your turn isn't over. So I'd been on Turn 3, finished attacking, and was going to move to Turn 4 to conquer the AL Central. I clicked the button, it gave me the option to Steal Fans. So I did. I played a game and stole fans on All-Star. Then I clicked the button for my next move and the Move option came up. So I moved my fans to the polygon next to the AL Central teams to prep for attack. Then I clicked the button and Reinforce came up. So I clicked that, and added reinforcements to the polygon I'd just moved my fans to next to the AL Central teams. Then I pressed the button and Attack came up. So I hit that and went to start the attack and noticed it now said "Turn 5" in the bottom right of the screen. WTF?! How did I go from being on Turn 4 to being on Turn 5?!

I was completely afraid this would happen because of my confusion on when a turn ends, and based on what I'd researched, I still can't figure out what I did wrong. I was under the impression that after you finished an attack and moved on, your next turn wouldn't end until you finished your next attack and moved on. That clearly didn't happen here. I've just wasted three days of my life getting as far as I did in this stupid, stupid Conquest only to now lose everything completely unintentionally.

Can someone please tell me what I did wrong, so if I'm dumb enough to do this Conquest again I don't mess it up and waste more of my life? Thanks in advance.

    The Order is

    Attack
    Steal
    Reinforce
    Move
Turn ends and you go back to Attack

Sometimes the game will skip the Attack round completely if none of your squares are directly adjacent to an enemy with enough fans to attack (you need at least 2). In that case it would go directly from Move to Steal but it would have still advanced the turn number.

I can't say what specifically happened in your playthrough. I have not played the Extreme Conquest so I am not sure how it is laid out.

What it sounds like you did:

So I'd been on Turn 3, finished attacking, and was going to move to Turn 4 to conquer the AL Central. I clicked the button, it gave me the option to Steal Fans. So I did.

You are now on Turn 3/Steal.

I played a game and stole fans on All-Star. Then I clicked the button for my next move and the Move option came up.

You skipped Turn 3/Reinforce and went to Turn 3/Move.

So I moved my fans to the polygon next to the AL Central teams to prep for attack. Then I clicked the button and Reinforce came up.

You skipped Turn 4 Attack and Turn 4 Steal, going to Turn 4/Reinforce.

So I clicked that, and added reinforcements to the polygon I'd just moved my fans to next to the AL Central teams. Then I pressed the button and Attack came up.

You are now on Turn 5/Attack.

So I hit that and went to start the attack and noticed it now said "Turn 5" in the bottom right of the screen. WTF?! How did I go from being on Turn 4 to being on Turn 5?!

    Correct.

The good news is you can re-start and all your completed goals will keep. You don't have to do them all in the same run. If you've done the prior missions, you can just conquer AL Central and AL West WITHOUT having to go through the NLs and AL East. Much, much less Extreme.
