Weekend classic placement manipulation

I am frustrated with weekend classic. I just played a guy who obviously yanked to get in silver II so they could clean up. It feels like this has happened before to me too. I’m no great player, but people taking advantage of the placement system stinks. Competitive games make MLB the Show. Getting killed by the 3rd inning sucks.

I’m a 800-900 player. I got destroyed by a top 20 player in gold 2 a month ago or so. I feel you

I'm not like a legend Goin but I think I'm like 30-6 in ranked. I haven't played much since last WC so I'm likely in silver 1 or something. I may or may not play on Monday (WC)
Mine isn't by design I just don't play ranked much this year.
So yeah maybe it should just go by your highest ranking of the year regardless of any season

I barely played MLB the show since NBA 2k26 launched, I decided to play today because my friends aren’t online and was placed 400 in ranked and in Bronze 2 league… I didn’t do this on purpose but I’m playing people well below my skill level.
A lot more people than you can imagine is playing below their skill level and didn’t plan it, it’s because it’s late in the game cycle and most of us have moved on to another games.

@Dharper_23_PSN … I have not played online for 2 months. Therefore I got sent down from 800 to 400 … Is it manipulating? Or is it just how they do the ranking system? I think it is the latter … btw: The game will not sent me down any further than 400

The higher the rank the less likely it’s because they “just haven’t played since last WC”. These people that are ranked 800 and above do this intentionally to reap the benefits. I’ve played some of the best players in the world on gold 2 during WC. They upload videos playing every night.
Additionally, when u do get matched up with someone around ur skill level either the server is going to be [censored] or the game is going to coin toss who gets the hits and exit velo or not as well as everyone and their mother using the same switch hitting godsquad. It’s frustratinf and arguing with me to tell me otherwise is useless. I’m no doubt hooked on this game and have spent some money on it but a lot of things don’t at all make sense. -
I'm always in gold 2 or diamond but didn't play any games this season so I was in bronze. The rewards are horrible down there. Not sure why anyone would do that on purpose. Can't even get Mickey in bronze.

@RAisEdByGoAt_XBL So the only reasonable answer is a) conspiracy or b) (like for me) that I have not played 3 WCs in a row. I guess you really like the A-option because it is easier to understand

I am in gold 2 in WC right now. Not because I want to manipulate it but because I have a life and didnt play a lot this season

The rewards are better the higher you go, not sure why people would purposely want to lose.

It’s pride. A lot of people would rather win games, then sweat it out and have a chance at decent rewards. The great players are going to have enough stubs to buy the best players at this stage of the game anyway.

I’m not great but I enjoy paying the game. I’m in the 400-499 range and first player I played had a World Series icon. That was kinda crappy.

I'm a bit higher, but have never made it past Championship series and a majority of my opponents had World Series icons as well. I think the fair match ranking is busted for the WC which I will pretty much avoid now until it's over.

I’m not sure you have the right person. I make complaints about a broken game often because this forum is where you come to do that. And you guys spit on me and act like children which I imagine most of you are. I’m an older man with just too much time on my hands anymore but I’ve played this game for years and while I enjoy it, it has plenty of issues this year
