Beltran is still the best card in the game. His attributes don't look insane necessarily but he plays way up. Clemens is still a top 5 starting pitcher. HOWEVER, you are right, SDS is being very stingy indeed with keeping Live Series prices sky-high.

Someone explain this to me. SDS is still gatekeeping some of the best Live Series cards, like Aaron Judge.

Imagine if they gave everyone a free Aaron Judge LS in the 7th Inning Reward path.

How many torches and pitchforks would be raised from everyone who acquired him earlier?

SDS also does not have direct control over market prices. They will sometimes up the supply of high diamond live series cards with flash sales, but otherwise, the market is just supply and demand.

He may very well still be the best performing player in the game (I won't dispute that) but when it comes to just looking at his attributes some of the other CF options have him beat. But of those only Bernie Williams is also a switch hitter

Bernie has better contact, Vis, disc and Clt
Beltran has better power, all fielding attributes, and all Baserunning attributes.

So it's understandable if someone has not used all of these cards that they could come to the conclusion that Beltran has been surpassed. Especially when you look and see that Bernie can be purchased for under 100K and just Judge and Ohtani alone can cost over 700K if you are not lucky enough to pull them

Technically for that 700K; you get way more than Beltran.

True but assuming you have everything else but those cards it will net you

    91 Darren O'Day
    93 Chase Headly
    99 Gil Hodges
    99 Roger Clemens
    99 Beltran

In the end I guess it boils down to how much you want those players too.

Honestly, not sure why people care so much at this point. There are a lot of dumb cards in the game now that have no business existing, like the Reynolds card. Cards like that belong in November, not August.

And Bautista and Schwarber fantasyland cards were in like mid July. Those players do not remotely deserve cards that good so early.

Flash sale on high diamond live cards today — should bring prices down a bit.

Ironically, 2 of them have "better" versions available.

@chrisham8380_PSN I agree with most of what you said except for the fact that the rewards were known before you spent 400k. If you didn't want the rewards, and are unhappy with them, why did you buy Judge? I agree that the live series is still WAY too expensive, but it is also almost completely irrelevant, so its cost doesn't matter overly much. You can get much better cards for a fraction of the price.

So if you’re aware of how ‘useless’ these cards are , why in the world did you lock them into collections?

I have no motivation to do live series at this point. Better cards in programs and market. At least comparable ones. Far less pricey too
