the august lightning player

@BiigD008_XBL He went from the worst hitter in the league to the best with a stance change lol
-
Giancarlo Stanton, hopefully.
If only he could stay healthy...... -
@TheGoaler_PSN I can see him being the retro lighting card. His August performance in his MVP year was INSANE.
-
Brice Turang anyone
-
Nah it’s definitely Tyrone Taylor

For August
Lets see if you go by Batting averageOhtani .385
Harris II .380
Brenton Doyle .377
Trea Turner .366
Nick Kurtz .362
Brice Turang .358Ohtani, Harris II and Kurtz are out as they all have 99s
Turner and Doyle both have mid 90's cards but we are getting late enough they could be given a card
Turang is the only one who does not have 90 or above card yetHR's
Shea Langeliers leads but already has a 99 card.
Brice Turang is 6th in this category as wellWAR
Jacob Marsee leads in this category but he is getting a card tomorrow.
Trea Turner is 3rd
Brice Turang is 4th
Geraldo Perdomo is also in the top 5The name that keeps popping up that has the lowest rated card is Brice Turang whose best card is an 89.
I would not count out Trea Turner though. He is usually a coveted player and would draw more interest as a lightning card.

Shouldn't the lighting card always be who wins Player of the Month unless he already got a 99 previously.
-
Its kind of crazy that Kurtz is hitting .360 this month after his monster July.
I remember last year everyone was going apeshit over Merrill, demanding more cards and complaining constantly he wasnt a diamond
Now a guy is having a better year and people are saying too many cards and no one cares he is only an 80. Kurtz WAR in mid August is now better than Merrill's 2025 total WAR -
Tyler Soderstom?

Never has been. It happens once in a while but not always. I would say it is more likely to happen now though since we are at 99s overall.
A few years back, before sets and seasons Judge, Arrenado and Goldschmidt won half the POTM awards MLB gave out that year. None of them got a lightning.
