The new and improved app The Show Scout

New report I just finished implementing. I was getting tired of trying to figure out how much Ozzie would cost me so I created a report to get the estimated cost for the cards in a series that are purchasable on the market.
The report lists the cards and you check the ones you have or don't need (In my case since I am going for Ozzie and not Hank so I selected the 5 most expensive as I should not need those). The report will update the Buy Now and Sell Now values on the fly. So here is where I stand with Ozzie (well, after I finish the actual programs)
The Default value if you were starting from scratch and wanting all of them is 944K Buy Now and 690K Sell Now. That is kind of a ridiculous total. Hopefully I can cut my cost more with packs earned in the programs themselves.

Google has changed the way they do things apparently which changed the links to the two apps. So the most updated versions (with the Card Comparisons and the new Card Series cost estimator) are at the links below.

No. It is just me playing around with AI programming tools. It started out simple and I just kept making it more and more complex. It was never intended to be put on a storefront
You should be able to use it in a web browser right now. I am not sure how well it would work on a phone screen as it was designed on a PC and 1089p monitors

Nothing to download since it is web application. The only thing done locally is saving the current JSON file so you don't need to sit through the fetch every time you use it

So, while I watched social media and interacted with folks on the board this afternoon I also worked on my app.
When I was looking stuff up I would have the app open in one tab and Baseball Statistics or Fangraphs in another.
So I decided to see if I could bring in the current years stats for any player still in the league. Turns out there is a free api for that so now when I look at a players details page I can call up their Season Stats
Then I thought, "man it would be nice to see how one player stacked up against another", so I decided to see if I could implement a stat comparison. I may still change this screen but I like that it is kind of compact
I am waiting to see what the Captain Blizzard drops are about to see if I should try and expand my captains reports.

And man, I hope I can adapt this for MLB The Show 26 fairly easily.

I appreciate you attempting to give it a look.
It is back to private at this time. I was apparently operating on a Google Cloud 3 month trial. I may sign up so that I can make it public again. The app should not cost me any money as it does not use any AI functions and does not see enough use to use up the free monthly credits.
Then if I can keep it working next year I may look at other alternatives to host it. If I make it public again I will post it here and message you as the links will probably change.
I am kinda waiting to see the next drop to decide if I want to try and come up with some more Captain reports.

Thanks for the offer. I am already, as I have a tendency to do, redesigning the two must recent screens to spruce them up and look a little nicer.
It is one of the reasons I really like deploying it on Google because it is really easy to do when I go through spurts where I update it multiple times a day or during the week. As I understand it if I have to host it elsewhere there will need to be changes to the code which would then make making changes and testing more difficult.

All I have to say this morning working more on the stats screens is
Curse the players whose names are not entered exactly the same between cards and curse the fact that there are two Max Muncys in the league.

Spent a chunk of last night and about 4 hours this morning trying to iron out issues and make a more pleasing layout for the new screens. I might redeploy it for all to try but am waiting to see what Captain Blizzard Program is about and whether my plans for new captain reports is worthwhile.
Added an info section to the stats screen with the live series picture and some info (including other card versions)
And made a whole new layout for stat comparisons. The guy on the right got a finest card. The guy on the left did not.

Okay, I think it is back up and running
Here is the new link. Let me know if you can get to it and if it runs and if you see any issues. It is obviously hard to test everything myself.
I can't remember everything that I have added since last time.
- Stats Screen - pulls in stats for current season and has a button link to Baseball Reference for legends or more details on current players
- Stats Comparison - Compare 2 players 2025 stats.
Older things that may be new
- Team Rarity Breakdown (in Data Breakdowns) - Team by team distribution across all levels of cards
- Legends Awaiting 99 OVR (Eras and Immortals) - A list of legends who do not yet have a 99 card, grouped by highest OVR card
- Series Cost Estimator - Gives you and estimated cost of finishing a Series collection and allows you to mark the ones you have for a personalized cost estimate (Wow, 2025 finest is over 3 million stubs)
- Top 50 Offensive players - Based on the Offensive Meta score
- Top 25 Offensive by position - Select a position and get the top 25
- New Best Squad logic - Finally built in the penalties for secondary positions into the logic and it did make a difference in who was being selected in some squads
- A new Help screen (Top right) - Completely underdeveloped (AI did it all) but you can at least see all of the formulas for the "meta scores"
- New function in Generate Filtered report - If you hit this button from the main screen it will create a report based on your filters. If there are too many players it will default to a summary but there are new buttons at the bottom (Should probably move them to the top) that allows you to see the top 10, 25, 50 or 100 based on your chosen sort column.
