Is it rational for me to target Rolen 99?

Hi guys,
I am new to the game and the franchise. I have been playing for about six weeks now and I understand the concept more and more with each passing day.
For the first time, last night, I really studied what needs to be done to unlock Scott Rolen 99. And I have doubts that I will ever be able to do so.
Let me explain.
I have no desire to play online. I consider myself a casual player. I play with timing swing, at veteran level, against bad teams (Rockies, White Sox, A's, Marlins). I like to keep it simple.
I play about ten or twelve hours every week.
My big fun is to accomplish goals on different programs and timeline to collect rewards. I then use rewards to make collections or make my squad better.
I then use my best squad to play mini-season and Diamond Quest. I have not master the art of Conquest yet, wich might come later.
Wich bring me to my original question: playing like this, can you seriously think that I will one day get all the cards needed to unlock Rolen 99?
I ask because I pulled some nice cards, mainly form the Spotlight, Moon Shot and Pipeline Past collection, that I could sell for a lot of stubs. But I might also need them to unlock Rolen.
If, with your knowledge of the game and the way I play, you tell me than there is no way I wll unlock Rolen (because to do so, I would need cards that can only be obtain in parts of the game I don't play), I will sell the cards I don't need. But if you think there is a chance than I can unlock Rolen, I will collect them and hope for the best.
Please note that I don't feel the urge to unlock Rolen. I don't particularly like the player. If I want this card, it's only to get a big goal for playing the game (and that my progress will be easy to track).

I would say hold on to those big pulls and don't lock them in and wait til Friday when there's a new collection reward and see if you want him instead but if you don't sell the cards and buy the cards that you want instead

@sbchamps17_NSW I did not know there was a new collection reward coming on Friday.
I red about it, but I did not understand the concept. Now I think I do.

Don’t worry about it, but playing the MP program would help a ton with the players needed for collections in Flashback packs and choice packs. But, if you play through October (lots of people don’t other than baseball junkies), everything will be available in packs with better odds, tons of free packs and dirt cheap prices in the market.
Trying to catch up though might be an insurmountable task unless you were a great player just starting late

@yankblan_PSN I am not a really good player that bought a Switch this winter, had never heard of The Show, and bought the game in April on an impulse after seeing a publicity on TV!

I play play online every once in a while, otherwise I play offline but still get the MP rewards because they're cheap. I got Rolen but that only because I wanted him for my Phillies theme team

@pacadie09_MLBTS there is a clear chance you will get him. Play the game, earn packs, sell off the dupes and/or stuff you do not need … will take some time, but not play online is better than not playing offline
