P5 thoughts

So, I finally P5’d a player! Been playing since ‘21, never got close but finally did it this year. Have several more guys on the way as well. Exciting.
Anyway, once you P5 a guy, do you keep him in your lineup? Or do you remove him and it’s “next man up”? Just curious.
Thanks! The player was Juan Soto. Marte, david Ortiz and Skenes are right behind Soto.

Congrats, I remove them and start working on the next one. I P5d Bryson Stott and Dylan Crews and replaced them with Mookie and Griffey. Close with to P5 with 3 others

I usually run two lineups. My online lineup has the cards I feel the best with. All of them are P5 and this lineup is used in WC or when I’m trying to rank up.
My second lineup is all cards I’m grinding to P5. I rarely grind with anyone who is P5.

I have a few … the first: Gold Santander … the one I am most proud of: Rickey
-
My P5s:
LS Aaron Nola (#56)
LS Alex Bregman (#53)
LS Jaden Hill (#4)
Anniv Paul Skenes (#199)
PL Dylan Crews (#5,2xx) -
Previous years I did, then would compare the stats that the cards got getting to p5,
this year half the stats aren't on the cards (the DQ showdown gives mission progress and PXP but don't reflect on the card) so I'm just keep using unless there is a good replacement cause you can't accurately compare now. -
I try my best to pull them once p5 but find myself using them when I'm really trying to win. basically just in ranked or weekend league. except pitchers, they'll stay in my squad p5 all year.
I do really wish they went beyond 5 though, 5s come quick this year.
-
I retire my p5s. I might play with them more this year since this year they’ve added double pxp etc for the first time ever. Online I play with my best non p5 cards. Offline I play with any card not p1 yet unless I don’t have any cards to use for a mission

I use certain p5s in ranked if im good with them (trout, jram, yordan, witt,santander....mostly live series go figure)
I got napoli, bregman, lawlar and a handful of other position players p5'd and prob won't use them anymore. I was good with napoli and mashed lefties with bregman but couldn't hit rhp with him.
Really

I think the double Pxp hurts the achievement. Pxp should be a grind to P5.

@Def266_MLBTS I guess you can skip the double PXP week, then you don't have to worry about cheapening your P5 grind.
You can be like me and end taking vacations during that time. I missed the whole first time around and partially the second time around. With missing all that double PXP time, I still have the following P5s: 99 MVP Roger Clemens, 91 LS Shohei Ohtani, 91 Spot Light Bailey Ober, 91 2nd Half Randy Johnson, 90 Egg Hunt Jacob DeGrom, 90 Vet Johan Santana, 91 Spot Light Andres Munoz, 99 HOF Gil Hodges, 99 Sig Carlos Beltran, 93 2nd Half Chase Headley, 92 LS Aaron Judge, and 92 Prime Jason Kipnis. I also have the P5 bat. So, I don't think the double PXP cheapens it, but I'm glad they do it for those who do not play as much as I do are still able to get some of their own.

definitely not my experience … This way you get to P5 earlier and it matches the DD-experience with its power creep much better

Thanks all for your thoughts. I had LS Marte hit P5 last night. (Two in one season, a first!)
I don’t play online at all, so using my absolute “best” lineup is something I don’t necessarily need to do.
I’m gonna try “retiring” them and see how it goes. LOL. Although, LS Soto’s swing is so so so smooth, he will be missed. And hard not to put back in the lineup.
