Who's the NEW LEGEND ON APRIL 25?
-
If Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro and Roger Clemens are in the game. No reason Barry shouldn't be. Dude is the poster boy for the steroid era
-
@Rubbaneck34_XBL That isn’t why Bonds isn’t in the game. It’s either his price, or his willingness to be in the game. Even when he was active, he didn’t want his likeness in games.
-
@PAinPA_PSN if Ichiro is in the game, maybe the first big collection after Inning 2? It’ll probably a Greenberg on the 25th or something like that. Womp womp. I’d like Foxx back though

Don’t get too excited. I doubt they would add a big name mid season. It will likely be decent legend, but probably not a Bonds or Ichiro type. This has been a great year for legends though.
This is my thought, they would not bury a legend whose inclusion could help them sell copies at launch until late April.
Halladay and Honus were announced mid-year

Mark Texiera

You guys are all wrong. It's clearly going to be Kosuke Fukudome
-
If you want Barry just know SDS will take all diamonds out of packs so you have to buy stubs just to pay for the rights fee for bonds
-
If it’s Andrew Jones I don’t think they can say new legend because he was in a game before. They can say returning but not new. I’d like Justin Upton or BJ Upton or David Price. The Rays need a little love being a new franchise with nameable players.
-
@Finn_Scotus_MLBTS hoping for Joe DiMaggio. Maybe Ty Cobb. Or, a return of Keith Hernandez or Ernie Banks or John Smoltz.
-
What about Canseco? Would pair well with the Big Mac card if they incorporated the two together. He's not as much of a diva as Bonds by any stretch and steroids are obviously not a concern for SDS at this point so they may have pulled something off there... just thinking out loud, so to speak.
-
Others receiving votes....Carlton Fisk, Frank Robinson, Walter Johnson, Nap Lajoie, George Sisler, Rogers Hornsby...
-
@PAinPA_PSN that's probably a
-
@Dinger_Dan19_PSN Carl Crawford would be great.
-
Crawford is a good guess. Would have some cool useable cards for different teams as options for them to create

Yeah, can’t wait for his 53 common Red Sox card.
-
Carl Yastrzemski - yes another Red Sox player
-
Jones or texiara.....ideally someone who wore that number, maybe will Clark. A bottom top guy or high medium guy. Maybe even Derek Lee....someone in the 90s-2010s Era I sense
-
I can see it being a "returning" player who retired somewhat recently like Josh Donaldson. Not complaining, but it's kind of a bait-and-switch promoting a NEW Legend for it to be someone who has only been out of the game for a year or two (Arrieta/Kluber).
I also don't expect them to release a massive headliner (Bonds/A-Rod) in the middle of the game cycle as those kind of stars are usually reserved to entice preorders ahead of launch. However, history has proven that SDS will drop some big names out of nowhere (Honus Wagner/Larry Walker/Jim Thome/Roy Halladay) so it is possible. Selfishly, I would love to see Hideki Matsui or Mark Teixeira.
Another question, what do you expect the card overall to be? These types of collections usually get the 99 treatment, but with them really abiding by the power creep model I can see it being a 95-97 which would still make that card viable for a long while.
-
I don’t expect anyone too big. No Cobb, no Bonds. I would even be shocked for Canseco.
My guess. Best case scenario is Buster Posey or Albert Pujols. But I think it will be disappointing, someone similar to Rich Aurillia or Tony Tarasco level.
