One of the best pitchers of all-time. Definitely a very solid addition if true.

Awesome awards, coupled with Mickey is a solid choice for those early rewards

Holy sheet. Thank you SDS for getting Lefty.
Now the 6 days to go is gonna seem like months. -
Guess I should start flipping when I get the game because as a Phillies fan I definitely want him in my rotation
-
Hope we get a Cardinals version. I love me some Bob Gibson but am really ready for another legend starting pitcher. Up until now it has always been Bob Gibson and a bunch of flashbacks.

If that rumor of Steve Carlton being added to the legends in "MLB 25 The Show" is true, then it's an absolute miracle! According to one Beckett Vintage Card Monthly article about Carlton last year, '"Carlton and Carlton Fisk vowed to never be in or on anything related to Topps after they retired because allegedly, Topps Founder, Sid Barger, was a cheapskate who hardly paid any money to a player for their likenesses and thought that they should be grateful that they were on a card with his company at all, let alone paid for it.'" SDS pulled off a coup, if they got him, since they use most of their player cards from Topps.

Now that Topps has changed hands to fanatics any past personal issue are easier to resolve.
Also I'm sure the SDS check helps change some minds

I always knew Carlton was one of the best pitchers of his generation, but looking over his career year-by-year gives you a much better idea about how dominant he really was.
Carlton is literally the winningest left-hander in MLB history with almost 20 seasons on his resume that you could call "elite." If they were to base his best card on one particular year though it would likely be 1972.
27 Wins
1.97 ERA
12.1 WAR
0.993 WHIP
346.1 IP
310 StrikeoutsHe was a primary fastball/slider pitcher with many claiming his slider as the most devastating pitch they ever encountered. Willie Stargell had a famous quote after getting shut down by Carlton, "Hitting him tonight was like trying to drink coffee with a fork."
There is no reason why he shouldn't be one of the best pitchers in the game.

Always nice to get a big legend, but his real pitch mix won’t play well in this game. It’s sad that they have to give pitchers pitches they didn’t have just to make them play.

100%
People automatically determine if a pitcher is good or not based on two pitch types which is unfortunately justifiable.
