Metal bats

Why introduce metal bats if we can’t use them outside the 1 hour of gameplay in high school and college??? We live the addition but it’s too hyped up for 8 games max for both. That’s literally gonna take me 2 hours max. Then no more metal bats again so dumb man.

It's not dumb because you can only use metal bats in high school and college in real life, metal bats are banned mlb

You know, if they wanted to spice up the HRD...let the boys use metal bats. That would be INSANE.

Fact is the recore metal bats are now roughly equivalent to the power produced in wood bats. This is why homers dropped off dramatically in college baseball a few years back when they adopted the recore bats but initially retained the college baseballs that have significantly raised stitching compared to MLB balls.
So, what happened is that the college hitters were using reduced bat power to try to launch a ball with greatly higher drag as well as greatly enhanced ability to break with pitcher spin. Players were hitting balls flush that wouldn't get out of stadiums. It finally got corrected when college baseball adopted balls that were more in line with MLB specs.
