No worries🤟

@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN on that basis we should have an absurd number of Astros given their ALCS and playoff appearances in recent years. Don’t disagree with lots of Yankees by the way…

Not sure what basis you're referring to but every player on those recent Astros teams is in the game. They also have 12 Hall of Famers....9 of them are actually in the game. They just happen to be on other teams.

@dbub_PSN What? They are literally in the World Series right now. Not a Yankees fan.
My point exactly. Yankee fans have always bragged about their rings and scoffed at other achievements.
So they MADE the WS. So what? No ring.

I can’t believe I rooted for the Dodgers who eliminated my team but Yankees fans did this to me over the years

@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN good point. I’d not considered their HOF cards who happen to be on other teams. Wikipedia says only Biggio and Bagwell in the Hall with their “primary team” as Houston. That seems mad to me but suppose it makes sense!!

Their "other" HOFers:
Nellie Fox - rightfully in as a White Sock
Leo Durocher - rightly in as Dodger manager
Randy Johnson - rightfully in as DBack
Eddie Mathews - rightfully in as Braves player
Robin Roberts - rightfully in as Phillie
Joe Morgan - rightfully in as Red (though I'm sympathetic his credentials should be revoked due to his broadcast career).
Pudge - rightfully in as Ranger
Nolan Ryan - in as Ranger ("rightfully" might not as strong an argument, but I'm a Rangers fan so I'll allow it!)
Don Sutton - rightfully in as a DodgerThe situation will eventually rectify as the Altuve, Bregman, Yordan, and Verlander class become eligible and if Oswalt, Berkman, and Jose Cruz ever get some Veteran's Committee love.

@dbub_PSN How convenient that you are cutting off the relevancy at 2000 when the Yankees won 3 out of the 4 preceding years, 1999, 1998 and 1996. They’ve also won twice “this century” in 2000 and 2009. They’ve been in the World Series and lost 3 additional times in that time period. Suggesting they haven’t been a top team recently is laughable. In the context of legends in this video game, this century doesn’t mean much. They are the most storied franchise in the game. I’d bet this game’s largest fan base are Yankees fans and they know it.

Yankees are absolutely great all-time, especially in the years you mentioned. Technically... 2000 is considered "last century". I only point this out because I was a long-suffering Red Sox fan and they've won the most "this century" 🤪

Ummm it's not "convenient" for me. It's called how the world keeps track of time. 2001 started a new millennium. I didn't make that up.
And a 25 year period is an often used sample of time.
Finally, I still say they're around the 6th most successful franchise this century. Prove me wrong. And don't give me playoff appearances, division titles etc. Real Yankee fans care about rings and rings only.
Most real Yankee fans would readily admit they have performed lower than their expectations in recent years.

Exactly I live near NY and all the Yankees fans say that this season meant nothing because they didn't win the World Series. Yankee fans want championships not division titles
-
I'm a White Sox fan and it's so weird seeing the expectations that other fan bases have. Last night my dad and I watched Game 5 and we both wondered if Boone's and Roberts's jobs were on the line if they didn't win the WS. We are both lifelong White Sox fans, and he's only seen them win it once (and he just celebrated his 71st birthday a few days ago). We would be thrilled with a division title or even if they snuck in through the wild card. Hearing fan bases say the season "meant nothing" after making it to the WS is crazy to me.
(though I do understand the disappointment when you get that close... I lived in AZ for a while and I've been a pretty big D-backs fan for the last 20 years, so I was super bummed that they made it so close but didn't win... but I would never say 2023 "meant nothing" or wasn't something to be proud of. I guess it's good to be a Yankees fan!)

@MarioMendoza935_XBL If you’re only looking at World Series wins, sure. The Yankees have won their division 12 times to Boston’s 5 over that time period. They’ve made it to World Series 4 times each. Yes, the Red Sox won all 4 times to the Yankees 1, which is the most significant measure, but let’s not pretend like the Yankees have fallen off a cliff.
-
The Yankees also have the most wins since 2000, followed by the Dodgers and Cardinals.

Again, that's a given. We all want championships for our teams. But to hold the Yankees to some ridiculous standard that the rest of the teams in the league aren't held to is stupid. 16 teams have won the World Series since 2001 (why the other guy decided that 2001 was 25 years ago is beyond me, but whatever). Are all 16 of those teams "top teams" now?
My issue with the Yankee haters and their "logic" is when they say dumb [censored] like "All Yankee fans do is talk about past championships" then follow that up with "this team won X amount of championships in the last 20 years so they're better". (No, not you.... the other guy.)
Are we saying now that the San Francisco Giants are a "top team" because they won 3 WS in 5 years....even though the last one was a decade ago? The Red Sox are a "top team" because they won 4 WS in the last 20 years...even though the last one was 6 years ago and they havent come close to the playoffs in 3?
Im just curious as to what makes a "top team" because if its ONLY World Series wins that make a "top team", there are 29 trash teams in the league at the end of the season every year.
-
Except for a resurgence in 09 the Yankees haven't been a juggernaut since they were dethroned in 04
-
@Teak2112_MLBTS I just want more for theme teams. Some teams only have golds and a diamond and others have low diamonds. Only the solid few have good pens.
