48 fielding (at a prime defensive position)If you want to argue about his overall then those are the attributes you have to address. He's batting .228 against lefties. I don't know what stats they use to determine fielding but looking at Fangraphs he ranks pretty low in some advanced fielding metrics.
Why are injured guys gold? Because they don't update injured players. If they were gold when they were injured that is where they will stay until they start playing again.

Overalls are based on 3 years. So no, he's not batting close to .270 with almost 20 HRs. he's batting closer to .250 with only 36
His 28 errors this year also doesnt help the cause defensively.
