Retro All Star Program- Trash

The content is TRASH.
The cards are TRASH.
Was excited for the program, but it is a huge disappointment. The player selection was probably the worst, but even the cards aren’t really the close to the best out right now. Major missed opportunity with a cool concept.
-
The game needs relievers, but maybe not one with that pitch mix.
But when you have a 4 card program like this I would expect all 4 to be big names for an all star program.
-
i took last year off , wishing i had taken 2 years off
-
I think it's incredibly silly for a game dev to drop new temporary content.
It's the dumbest thing ever to hype new cards and players but they are time stamped by the sets and seasons. -
On the plus side, I like the event specific missions paired with the program. Unfortunately, the cards are useless and frankly unexciting. I actually wish they dropped a pack with it, so we could get some usable cards.

Why did you get excited for the program? What have they done this year to warrant the players still having high expectations every time a program drops?

Especially a mid week program. It was exactly what I expected.

.....but Devenski struck out the side for me on Veteran difficulty, as an 'opener' in a small park for me (After giving up a first pitch HR on a Slide-piece )
-
30k XP though was amazing.......that alone makes it a good program....and they dropped early in the week, which was nice for a change. Baby steps.....
-
I liked the program and especially love the Devenski card, I think he might stay in my bullpen for a while
-
30k XP, some Season 2 cards for collections and more options for TA grinding. The event reward Polanco card is great, if you’re an online player. It was fine.

Last year's game has 41 of these retro all star game cards (not counting the 2 2021 cards), and 36 of the similar retro HRD series. granted a dozen of those or so were post ASG.
This year's game has 6.
If you are going to release a series, or rehash a series (which is a fine one to rehash), commit to it. If I cant field a full lineup of the series, it shouldnt exist.
Also of note, last year's other retro series, retro finest, had an 11 card program.
Stop making excuses 'oh its a midweek program' - there are no weekend programs this season except for the Topps Now stuff, which is a lesser form of last year's midweek content.
The content quantity this year is an F grade, plain and simple. And the quality isnt really much higher.
-
Topps Now used to be supplemental content. We'd get a program on Friday (and often on Tuesday as well) and then you'd also have the TN for that week.
Now, SA is all we get on most Fridays, and a neutered version at that.
Blows my mind that people say the game is fine when SDS has largely punted on content. There's very little to do offline unless you like grinding MS for packs.

I thought the xp path in season couldn’t get worse but it somehow has

Imo this mid-week program was kinda nice, if you play online. Offline, the missions are not that nice. If you combine it with events, it is kinda awesome … Had lots of fun today getting Polanco

Weren’t 30 of the Retro ASG cards last year Team Affinity? Maybe some of the HRD cards?

And? Wouldnt that have been a better TA choice than failed prospects and other random [censored]?
I believe at this point last year we were up to 300 TA cards, while we sit at 120 now. Granted 90 of those were captains, but thats still 210 to 120.

@Teak2112_MLBTS and, I’m just asking

I am one of the few who misses the old captains
