Lou Gehrig program
-
With the new program coming in and it looking like it's going to be core players, what are we thinking the ceiling's going to be? I'm thinking Gehrig comes in at 92-93 seeing he already has an 87.
How about other core cards in the program? With TA 2.1 being 89's, they can't be too much higher than that right?
-
Sound logic to me.
I hope it isn't all Yankees, we have plenty of those. I'd guess players who played around that same time, but not sure who all that would be.
-
I would be looking for another Ripken card somewhere in there.
-
The only thing we know for certain is It will be incredibly disappointing. Lou Gehrig always gets ruthlessly disrespected by this game so I wouldn’t be surprised to see him yet another unusable card
-
My guess is 91. I just don’t see them giving us a free card we’ll actually want to use before season 2 comes out.

This is definitely true looking back at the last few years. His best cards recently have kind of felt like "budget" 99s that were hugely underwhelming considering he is one of the greatest players of all-time. His Charisma card from last year was just disrespectful and I don't even think he got another 99 for the rest of the game cycle.
The last really good Gehrig card that I remember dates back to The Show 20 and it was the final reward for completing the Extreme program which definitely wasn't for everyone.

Did they announce this program somewhere? I didn't see anything on Facebook. How do you know they will be core cards?
-
@SakAttack87 his 21 card was unreal

It says it in the blog post about how to get ready for season two.
-
Programs aren't what they used to be. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a 3 card program and a core pack.

I would not jump the gun on assuming Gehrig will be a core card. It is possible but they mentioned the Gehrig program in the same sentence as the Jackie Robinson program. That program had 4 Set 1 rewards and then one Barrier Breakers pack, which was core. The Jackie Robinson reward card was a Season 1 card.
ALSO AS AN ASIDE: I changed my icon in the game to the new City Connect icon for the cardinals and the forum set me back to a generic icon.

@Dolenz64_XBL The Jackie Robinson program wasn’t a week before the next season though and we already had a season 1 Lou Gehrig card. I see what you’re saying, but I’d bet he’s core. They could also throw a hyper series pack into the program just to ruin people’s investments into those core cards.

That is why I said it was possible.
I, personally, just won't make that assumption. SDS has done little this year for me to give them the benefit of the doubt.
-
Hmm, I actually thought I read somewhere that LG was going to be core. It doesn’t make much sense to be S1, but I can't find anywhere that it was said.

They gave him one good card in 2020. I agree with this sentiment, they always disrespect him.
-
@nflman2033_MLBTS I don’t think they have specifically said that. There was a blog post that said look for core cards in his program though.

Ok, yeah that seems right.

Yeah, he is a core card after all

Figured it would be core, but surprised it's not a 92-93 - not that it matters much anyway. He better get a nice attainable card later in the cycle though!
-
I was pretty close.
