Acuna Keep or Sell after injury
-
Live series? I would keep and lock in for collections.
-
@jaychvz but here’s my question about that if I wait won’t he be moved to a free agent card since he is now gonna miss the rest of the mlb season like Shane Bieber for the guardians collection so I didn’t know if I should sell him and wait it out since I’m still a decent chunk away from finishing the collection or should I just finish the braves one and move on
-
No he is not a free agent. He is a live player series. He will not be moved to free agent.
-
He will stay on the Braves live series just because he's a high diamond and they don't move diamonds to the free agency pool. Same thing with Degrom last year with the Rangers he was on there the entire year because he is a diamond
-
I agree he won’t be moved. Trout hasn’t been so Acuna won’t either.

The higher ones don't get moved. Like deGrom and Edwin Diaz last year and Mike Trout this year.
-
Only way he'll be moved to the FA section is if the Braves take him off their 40 mam roster.
-
Acuna is a gatekeeper, there is no way he moves to the free agent section. A excellent example of this is Edwin Diaz on the Mets last sseason. Missed the entire season and didn't drop below 100k until early September/October
That beign said, his card may go down in price becasuse theres only 1 gatekeeper for the NL this year and thats Ohtani because we don't go by division anymore.

They'll put him on the 60 day IL and that'll take him off the 40 man roster but he still won't be moved to the free agent pool because he is a high diamond just like Degrom last year with the Rangers he stayed a diamond because he's a high diamond. I kept waiting last year for SDS to take him and move him to the free agency pool but someone else on here said that they wouldn't because he's a diamond and they don't move them to the free agency pool. That's why Degrom is on the Rangers live series even though he's currently on the 60 day IL

Live Series diamonds dont move to the free agent list for injury, only PED suspensions (Tatis) do.
-
Interestingly, unlike previous MLB the shows', seems like even Gold injured players are remaining on their rosters this year as well. With all of the injuries, probably makes sense.
-
@Tornadoes61 they wont move him to FA. They dont do that with diamonds. Edwin Diaz was on the Mets all season last year.
-
You should absolutely sell him.

They're not going to move someone unless they have to. There's usually enough "free" roster spots among the 40 where they can drop a minor league guy and keep the injured star in the live series roster.
