Then how are fielding statistics on the show determined
Advanced stats like Defensive runs saved (DRS). UZR is another big one, it considers arm, range etc.

1.7 ARMKiermaier played CF, so let’s look at Lorenzo Cain:

-2.9 ARMObviously Kiermaier isn’t the best anymore, but he’s still a top 5 defensive CF. The same can’t be said for Yelich or Soto.

I believe they use UZR for fielding and reaction, and statcast provides data for arm str and acc.
Personally I like outs above average

I'll put it this way. Say Kiermaier gets to 30 more balls over the course of the season but makes 3 more errors. Who is the better fielder? Who saves their team more runs? Kiermaier all day.
