You flinch and it's a strike. It's a terrible system.

well, you obviously haven't played the show for long....it used to be nothing but check swings online, and they were always "held up". literally every pitch people would check swing. but iagree, there needs to be a better balance

Online has destroyed checks swings along with other baseball fundamentals.

Only place check swings feels good and most realistic is playing RTTS for the most part. Also I never understood why they could not adapt the check swing system to be MORE forgiving in like conquest games ( offline grinding ) and then have it be like it is or maybe slightly adjusted for online play. Now I know some might say offline play might have me develop bad habits that is taken into online but that is a you problem not OUR problem.

What really annoys me is the animations for check swings where the batter barely moves the bat off shoulder and then ump says he swung. This animation from my POV happens mainly in CPU games and usually helps the player out but still unrealistic and makes the game look silly. There are others too that do affect the player that "Look" like you did not go around and yet -- BOOM -- strike too. It almost seems like the check swing animation and call is based on a RPG system where there is a dice roll and all that jazz and it's just RNG mostly if it's a check swing or a strike.

@blitz77tw I’ve been pretending that Angel Hernandez is the home plate umpire and all the check swing calls start to make sense.
