And our first Lightning Player is Bobby Witt Jr.

@GixxerRyder750 I know there’s more coming. I was saying I wish this program was longer meaning more to do and more players.
-
@MRAD2010 Also Elly's swing is magic, so even if his ratings are inferior... he mashes.
-
Stat-wise, the Witt card smashes Elly's. Switch hitting and the swing matter, though.
-
@MRAD2010
Yep, and if that 59 was under "Vision" instead of "Reaction", then that would make this card more desirable... As it stands, I still like the other Cruz better. -
Ignore me, I’m stupid.

I really wish this program was longer. I loved the old format of POTM. It was the one program you could look forward to every month. Pretty disappointed. Of course there’s another pack that could’ve been added to the program too but I guess we should be used to it now. It doesn’t seem like things are going to change. The card I really want it is that Mason Miller but of course he’s the rare round and I’m not buying packs. He’s like a better version of Rob Dibble.
I 100% agree. POTM was my favorite program every year. And you got to do it six different times per game. Now we get four “Season Awards” drops per month that take like 30 minutes each to complete. Not nearly as fun.
-
@yankblan I do agree with Elly have a great swing and that does make a huge difference. My first diamond I pulled this year was Witt and I barely used him because his swing wasn’t that great.

The program lasts as long as the season...there's more lightening cards coming.
Yes, but the old POTM format was a lot better. You got it each month April-September, it took longer than all four “Season Awards” drops combined, and it was just a lot more fun.
-
@flaw7420 that’s what I was saying. The old POTM format was perfect in my opinion. This is underwhelming to say the least.

Agreed. Like I said, it was always my favorite program.

@flaw7420 oh ok. My bad. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was on the phone as I was reading the messages.

only to be outdone by the 94 Elly they just released in the buyable pack...i swear this company....
The Witt card is better.
Not even close. The stats on the Witt card are dog [censored].
Thank you. People are easily fooled just by looking at ratings. His card number says 95, yet his hitting is literally an 83 if you do the math. I'd rather start Aurillia or even Captain Dansby with the Buxton Boost, and even Willie Castro, who's a fk'n gold card than Witt!
If SDS gave him like 100 clutch and 80+ vision, he'd be usable. But these numbers are so bad. The only good thing about the card is con vs rh, Pow vs rh, and his speed. His fielding is also pretty good.
But if you have him in your lineup, his low vision/clutch will hurt more than help u.
113- 84 vs Rh is not horrible for a ss. But the power could be maybe 87? not meta.
90-96 vs Lh is actually not bad. I actually don't have any issues with these numbers.65 vision for a 95 rated Lightning card is just horrendous! Why not make it 59? Then at least with the Buxton boost, he'd be more usable. But personally, I'd rather see his vision at 80+... 65 is a big Phuck us in our face from SDS!
84 clutch is laughable. So with runners in scoring position, his contact from both sides gets even worse. U have a runner on 2nd, it's 2 outs in the 9th and up comes Bobby! His 113 vs righties is now 84.... His 90 vs lefties is now 84....
SDS, why not make his clutch at least 95 to match his fk'n card rating? Even that is a little low, but at least the 95 will not hurt his con vs left. It hurts his con vs right, but not by too much.52 Disc = another joke that's not funny. Gl with those check swings not being called! I mean, I'm not saying make him into a super meta well disciplined Player, but at least increase the number to like I dunno,, 75? So we could parallel him to 80.
Those who actually like his card will change their mind if they plan on playing with him online.
Now, I'll try him in Events, bc I actually want to use him somewhere, but there's no way I'm putting him on either of my ramked accounts. -
@MRAD2010 Hard disagree; that slow drip of get one card then stat missions for that card , rinse repeat was a freaking pain in the [censored]. And if you were behind on the TN, then you might as well just walk in traffic.
-
@Shauwn Discipline does not affect check swings since 3-4 years at the least.

No worries. But I will definitely miss the old POTM program. Kinda like I miss the old Innings programs rather than the XP Reward Path.

Really? I didn’t know that changed. So what does Discipline do now?

should of been The Big Bear Ozuna
I'm not sure they'll touch Ozuna with a 10-foot pole.
Could have been Tyler O'Neil, too.
Or Mookie?

I'd like to see some confirmation on this from SDS. The definition of having Plate discipline is literally the ability to lay off balls, holding back on check swings, and having the ability to walk more.
-
I honestly thought it only affected the CPU controlled players. I'd definitely appreciate confirmation of what some of these affect or don't affect
