Slashed XP payouts

@Victor_SDS_MLBTS @Collin_SDS_PSN Can we open a discussion about re-instating the previous XP payouts? They're super low and all but kind of ensures the average guy won't hit many of the bosses.
I'd like to know why exactly it was thought that slashing gameplay xp in half was a good idea. Personally I only do moments, play vs cpu, and MS...I'm admittedly not nearly good enough to play online against other people, so this post is strictly from my point of view and doing my best to not speak for everyone else.
Last year you received I believe 180 xp or so for every defensive inning, and obviously batting depended on the results. But usually two and a bit weeks in I'm about 140k or so more along. It kinda feels like I'm fighting an uphill battle just to even get out of the "perfunctory" rewards section of the program.
Is re-instating the old xp payouts a possibility? Anyone else feel free to chime in as well

I do not know the exact math % they nerfed XP by but my rough estimate for let's say a conquest game is down from last year around 40% to 45% ( give or take a couple percent). I get why now but this only works if people play the game SDS wants you to play and that is the problem. They say play the way you want but in reality this is not true cause they have nerfed the offline stuff cause people used the system they put in and SDS did not like it.
What blows me away is every year there is a system that get's "abused" and then they are like surprised when it happens. If SDS planned out the game better this would not happen there were plenty of ways to still allow offline players to grind offline and still maintain the integrity of the game. The thing is they did not do it and let's take mini seasons as an example then they nerfed it into the ground making it really only good for getting packs. Now getting packs is good but removing ALL the XP from the play throughs after the first is too harsh.
SDS please reverse course on the mini seasons thing and at least ad the XP back for winning the Championship but like I suggested in another thread take it down by 50% but go back and make winning let's say the last two Win this many game missions and add like 1k and 1.5k XP to the last two. Also increase XP from basic in game things ( HR's etc ) by like 15% and increase daily XP cap to 18 to 20k
Another solution came to me have a weekly program designed for offline grinders with 3 offline mode missions for XP like ...
Win 12 Mini Season games for 3k XP and 500 Stubbs
Win 10 Conquest games for 2k XP etc etc
Beat a Showdown for 2k XP .....I think this is a solution that could work and still keep offline players at least content. I will say I am mainly an offline player and this goes to the players who have the ability to play online but avoid it like me.
Get out of your comfort zone and play online even just a little like let's say your 100% offline just go from that to 80 / 90% offline to 10/20% online . This just means do a few online games per week and who cares if you get your tail kicked you might get a little XP and rewards plus it will make you a better player for offline. This is just my 2 cents coming from a offline player

What @Sarge1387 said. I’m somewhere around 100k behind the curve. I’m not sure I’ll make it to the bosses at all, let alone get all three.
I still believe that the xp limit should be a rolling number where each day of the season increases the limit. That way, those who can’t play each day, or much each day, can binge a session or two to try and catch up without hitting the daily limit.

I get far more XP playing offline than getting mercied in online play on a regular basis.

As pessimistic as I am that I will reach the bosses, I am still willing to see how the rest of this first season goes. As of right now though I still have not even gotten to the first team Captain pack (Those should have been much earlier).
I don't expect we will see any changes in gameplay XP the first season except possibly some additional bonus weekends. If they near the end of season one and most of us have not even gotten the first boss pack yet then they may adjust it.
I am not so sure there is an easy resolution for them. They obviously want to have some say in when the bosses will be reached but when your changes are aimed at keeping guys who play 8 hours a day at bay then the guys who play 8-10 hours a week are going to struggle to make progress.

But that's the issue...I'd venture a guess and say the majority of the player base doesn't play 8-10 hours a day every day...so to me that's punishing the majority because you didn't want the minority finishing the program quickly. They should have capped it at 30k daily, and left the actual gameplay xp alone.
I think you're right and they're gonna tweak it after season one...which sucks because it's another two months of hoping I might reach the "half decent" tier rewards. Sad, and probably irrational but it makes me not want to play when I more or less know I won't get much for my efforts.

Can't anybody wait until after the season is over to see how it went before bitching about the amount of XP being given?
There will be more programs to drop and with XP rewards will and there is going to be time where there is double XP.
If season 1 ends and you're not close to the bosses and you feel like you've put in enough time to be there, then [censored] about it. But everyone smashing the panic button 15 days into the game is insane.

I think the argument is people who don't have the freedom to play every day for 8-10 hours like some others do. That's where the slant comes in. At least last year those of us with less free time had the chance to reach the bosses, and even then it was close-ish. And double XP will just be standard xp by last year's standards. So that won't really help all that much.
Honestly, there was nothing wrong with the XP payouts through gameplay, nor the cap. And literally nobody cares how quick someone completes the programs anyways. This felt like change for the sake of change and nothing more, and it's kinda garnered a negative reaction

Here's my question... what was so terrible about MLBTS 22 that SDS had to make such drastic changes to the game?seriously? The game content wasn't bad imo. They just blew things up for unknown reasons. New gaming engine perhaps would be a area to focus on.

@Sarge1387 I get that people don't have all day. But everyone is comparing the xp gains this year to previous years, when this is a completely different game.
Everyone needs to wait and see how it plays out for this first season before complaing about it. I'm sure if come the end of the season if the majority of the player base, which is what everyone makes it seem like, doesn't get any of the bosses they'll make adjustments for the next season.
As of right now if you finish all the TA and programs that's ~75k in reward xp plus another 75k from ranked and BR programs and there is still 66 days left in the season 1 program. There's plenty of XP to be had and plenty of time left, everyone just needs to relax on all these XP posts.

I play about 2-3 hours a day and I'm about to hit the first Pitching Captains Choice Pack.
Not sure if that's a good pace or slow pace.
But what I don't understand is why ALL 3 Bosses are at the end?
I understand not wanting to flood teams with 99s early.
But why not break them up into 3 spots on the path? One at 350K, one at 700K, and the last one at 1.5M.

@Sarge1387 I noticed that the season length seems a little longer this year. Perhaps that's playing into it? I haven't searched this to confirm, but it seems like maybe with the 4 new Wild Card slots this year, there might only be 4 seasons.
So think of not having to grind 650k-1M in those extra seasons we had last year and maybe it's a wash? I don't know for sure, maybe we should look at how many hours we logged last year on 23 for comparison. I agree it feels a bit slower this year, but I also see 66 days still left for S1.
I'm at 117.5k XP about 2.5 weeks in, but I haven't been playing every day. When I do the math I'll finish at only around 575k. But I also haven't even touched Play vs CPU, anything online, or Franchise mode at all yet... we'll see.

Very good point, that's something I, nor others in similar posts, have not thought about. We're at similar paces in the reward path...what say we compare notes at the end of the season and see where we're at. I only play 1 or 2 hours every other night or so. But next week when the wife is at her parent's all week that'll change lol
-
@Sarge1387 By my calculations, we need a minimum of 17,424 XP per day to finish before the season expires. I am still over 100k behind where I should be, but if I can make 15,111K per day (without missing any days) I will finish on the expiration date.

@Blind_Bleeder lmao show up everyday for in game xp grinding. What a joke.

Heh - thus, why I am so far behind.
-
@Blind_Bleeder You've earned more than I have.
I don't ever grind for the sake of grinding though, unless there is a card I really want and currently there are none of those. I don't do collections either so there is no pressure on me to get everything.
Then add in the fact that I have been playing a lot of Dragon's Dogma 2 in my spare time and I am way behind everyone else.

@x814xmafia something logical

I like completing the programs and collections, but this year I am not as driven as in the past. Plus, I'm helping coach a little league team (10-year-olds - eesh) this year and it is taking more of my time than I thought it would - but it's worth it so the kids can play. Thus, I'm behind, and I'm not pushing hard to catch up.

God, this is such an underrated comment.
23 and this year have been absolute dumpster fires.
24 is like Rian Johnson's Star Wars -- redo everything the previous guy did, just for the hell of it.
