Here's my question... what was so terrible about MLBTS 22 that SDS had to make such drastic changes to the game?seriously? The game content wasn't bad imo. They just blew things up for unknown reasons. New gaming engine perhaps would be a area to focus on.

@Sarge1387 I get that people don't have all day. But everyone is comparing the xp gains this year to previous years, when this is a completely different game.
Everyone needs to wait and see how it plays out for this first season before complaing about it. I'm sure if come the end of the season if the majority of the player base, which is what everyone makes it seem like, doesn't get any of the bosses they'll make adjustments for the next season.
As of right now if you finish all the TA and programs that's ~75k in reward xp plus another 75k from ranked and BR programs and there is still 66 days left in the season 1 program. There's plenty of XP to be had and plenty of time left, everyone just needs to relax on all these XP posts.
-
I play about 2-3 hours a day and I'm about to hit the first Pitching Captains Choice Pack.
Not sure if that's a good pace or slow pace.
But what I don't understand is why ALL 3 Bosses are at the end?
I understand not wanting to flood teams with 99s early.
But why not break them up into 3 spots on the path? One at 350K, one at 700K, and the last one at 1.5M.

@Sarge1387 I noticed that the season length seems a little longer this year. Perhaps that's playing into it? I haven't searched this to confirm, but it seems like maybe with the 4 new Wild Card slots this year, there might only be 4 seasons.
So think of not having to grind 650k-1M in those extra seasons we had last year and maybe it's a wash? I don't know for sure, maybe we should look at how many hours we logged last year on 23 for comparison. I agree it feels a bit slower this year, but I also see 66 days still left for S1.
I'm at 117.5k XP about 2.5 weeks in, but I haven't been playing every day. When I do the math I'll finish at only around 575k. But I also haven't even touched Play vs CPU, anything online, or Franchise mode at all yet... we'll see.

Very good point, that's something I, nor others in similar posts, have not thought about. We're at similar paces in the reward path...what say we compare notes at the end of the season and see where we're at. I only play 1 or 2 hours every other night or so. But next week when the wife is at her parent's all week that'll change lol

@Sarge1387 By my calculations, we need a minimum of 17,424 XP per day to finish before the season expires. I am still over 100k behind where I should be, but if I can make 15,111K per day (without missing any days) I will finish on the expiration date.

@Blind_Bleeder lmao show up everyday for in game xp grinding. What a joke.

Heh - thus, why I am so far behind.
-
@Blind_Bleeder You've earned more than I have.
I don't ever grind for the sake of grinding though, unless there is a card I really want and currently there are none of those. I don't do collections either so there is no pressure on me to get everything.
Then add in the fact that I have been playing a lot of Dragon's Dogma 2 in my spare time and I am way behind everyone else.

@x814xmafia something logical

I like completing the programs and collections, but this year I am not as driven as in the past. Plus, I'm helping coach a little league team (10-year-olds - eesh) this year and it is taking more of my time than I thought it would - but it's worth it so the kids can play. Thus, I'm behind, and I'm not pushing hard to catch up.

God, this is such an underrated comment.
23 and this year have been absolute dumpster fires.
24 is like Rian Johnson's Star Wars -- redo everything the previous guy did, just for the hell of it.
"SDS should refund everyone their early access money for releasing a broken game and they still have yet to apologize to the community." -- copy and repost this!

I guess I’m in the minority, but absolutely loved last years version of the game. It is the only year I really continued to play it from March to February (very few ‘off’ periods where I’d ‘get bored’). I’m not really sure why so many people dog on it.

You're not in the minority. The handful of people on this forum, think they're in the majority. There's a difference.
-
@JDHalfrack No I don't think you're in the minority. 23 was the best version I've seen as an Xbox player only playing for a few years now. And it also kept me playing right up until this launch.

From their comments it seems their plan is definitely to ramp up the xp later in the season, and that they intend programs is the primary source for xp with the gameplay xp a side bonus.
Its going to take some meatier programs to do it, the season awards isnt getting anyone over the nump.
The slashed gameplay exp itself is meaningless in a vacuum. Its less xp than last year, but the progression is different and we just dont know where it falls in yet.
I am skeptical, and I prefer last year's method as well as of now, but we havent seen what the season looks like yet.
-
I play for at least 10-12 hours a day, I'm at almost 370K... Just grind nonstop if ya can, play the AI on low difficulty and blow em out.
-
It really takes the fun out of the grind. It doesn’t help that the xp path is pretty weak in terms of rewards and there’s been little added content. It’s just not fun this year.
-
I agree with ya Teak the problem is the rest of the things they have done have not inspired much confidence that it will get any better. I hate to say it but the "trust" has been shaken or broken for some players and they have to do something to earn it back. I still play the game and grind but it kind of feels like work at times and not for the enjoyment of playing the game.

Without even getting into the technical issues, I do think this year is a downgrade from last year.
But I'm different than most, and honestly all it would have taken is a lengthy program around "Fresh Start" with that being a main theme of card releases. I like thinking 'what card from series x will they release as the next round of ranked rewards?'. Hyper cards on their own dont have that same appeal so everything to me feels random now.But when you have less content, more packs, and of course those technical issues, and lack of communication it does make it tougher to trust. The fact that SDS was actually willing to open up in detail about the xp plan (their one very good piece of communication) does give me a little hope for it though. I wish we could get the same detail around everything else.
