I don’t have a problem with it either, but I don’t care about this change at all. It’s not something I’m going to play. So far there are less improvements than most years. Just more woke features. Are we actually going to get improvements to the mode?
exactly mate - there is 0 improvements here just woke issue nonsense to appease all corners
Why does it matter anyways? It’s just for RTTS and like a tiny fraction that’ll use a low rated player in DD. So what if female players won’t play in the a game anytime soon. Neither will you and last I checked Babe Ruth isn’t stepping on the field in 2024 either.
oh it absolutely does not matter - i was replying to the other guy who i agree with - this game is in the toilet - horrible graphics, tons of issues not being addressed - no one cares or has asked for half of these moments being masked as new gameplay experiences

I can’t imagine what it’s like, to consider the inclusion of Women, Women, who make up half of the world’s population, into literally anything as “woke”. That sounds like an awful life.

Years ago, I always heard “why do you buy MLB every year when it’s just a roster update?”. And before, casuals didn’t realize they actually made changes and improvements (not to mention they had nearly game breaking glitches that wouldn’t be patched). Now I am fully on the “this is just a roster update” train.
If you already own 23 and/or are not a woman, there is no reason to buy this game.

Well, unless you actually like building up a DD team from scratch every year. That is part of the enjoyment for many players. They enjoy the grind of it even if you or I may not.
It's kind of the same reason that I will replay my favorite games occasionally. Not because they added something new, but because I enjoy the gameplay loop.

It's not "women's fault" that this feature is here -- SDS is using an easy-to-include, labor-unintensive, DEI-friendly initiative to try and distract us from the reality that they're not really making substantive changes at all.
The past few years they've focused on getting on all platforms. $$$$ Now that they are, the excuse is, "Our base is ps4, sorry current gen. Deal with it."
Meanwhile, NBA2K, with all its flaws, has a current-gen AND a last-gen version.

Not even close. Stadium creator is not on ps4, and the game is smoother -- but it's basically the same thing with a shinier coat of paint. 2K has much more differentiation.

I see you're point-fighting. Fine. I'll concede the stadium creator, but parry with the real meat of the argument -- the CORE GAME hasn't been upgraded in a meaningful way, meaning engine, graphics, mechanics, etc. It might play at more fps and run more smoothly and look slightly better, but that's about it (minus the SC, of course). That's not a generational shift, and we (ps5/series x) should not be pleased with it.
It's far from being "a new game."

Totally not labour-unintensive to do this, although just like the face scanning it might have little value to existing players so may not seem like the mode has changed.
But it’s a great idea that expands the market for the game.
"Expands the market"? Too funny. Just like how Madame Web or The Marvels or Space Feminism expanded the markets for the MCU and SW???
Ridiculous. This is purely a DEI move that will have little to no impact on "the market."
On a sidenote, I don't know why another guy here was saying that all they're focusing on is "woke stuff." I hope he wasn't referring to the Negro League stuff. We NEED more of that, but not just storylines because PLAYERS HATE MOMENTS.
If there were a Negro League franchise mode I'd buy the game for just that...

that's exactly what i am saying to these guys too - of course there is absolutely no problem with women in the game - we live in 2024 - the issue is that these "moments" in game are just small cut scene work with 0 improvements to graphics even though we have ps5 for years now - its tons of things like this which is what proves that there hasn't been any real work done to improve the game - just stories, moments, video scenes, nonsense

It's reactive a ridiculous to say not supporting the inclusion of XXX in "literally anything" is awful. That's one of the most generalized, anti-intellectual things I've read on this forum.

It’ll be the same moments, practically the same cards, same conquest, mini seasons.

Women played baseball during WW2 to support the troops. Many of who were MLB players. They fought for our country. I have no problem with them adding content honoring women. Same with the Negro league. It's baseball history and should be celebrated.

Women in the game threaten to ruin my immersion of having 5 foot Big Daddy [censored] make the majors. What's next, making long dead players next to currently alive ones? Babe Ruth wouldn't be able to hit one pitch off Brady Singer. We need to get back to the way people lived in the good ole days, now where did I leave my son's coal miner hat?
