The new Set system beat me out of playing

There were Set 1 cards that I never wanted to stop using, like RF Posada. Even Chipper, although he was my WC for awhile. Charisma Jeff McNeil was a beast that I would've used all year if we didn't have Sets.
I hope we go back to 'regular' next season. -

My Cardinals theme team got weaker in season 3 and 4 than it was in season 1 and 2. Nobody wants to see their theme team get weaker as you approach the all-star break.

Release order of the cards.

For example, we got a 99 Ozzie Smith in Set 1. We got a 97 Ozzie Smith in Set 3. Now in season 5 there are no eligible Ozzie Smith cards.

Stan Musial was a day 1 captain for the cardinals collection. That card was a 94. Set 2 gave a a 90 overall Musial. That same set 2 gave us a 99 Stan Musial. Now in season 5 the best option to use Musial is his 94 overall captain card from set 1 because it is core.

Jim Edmonds - Set 1 99 card. Set 3 97 card. Set 5 he has no card that is eligible.
Now I could use my wildcard for one of them but I need to use that so that i can have a decent catcher and not be forced to use Live Series Contreras.

He would be a good add. I liked Vince Coleman from those 80s Cards.

Sounds like your team would greatly benefit from a good Ted Simmons card!You either have been paying attention or just made a good guess. I have been asking for a Ted Simmons card ever since he was inducted to the Hall of Fame, even moreso this year, now that we won't have any Molina cards for at least a few years, if we see him again at all.
As for the suggestions for Willie McGee and Vince Coleman. I would take a McGee but I feel like Coleman would just be a lesser Lou Brock. Cardinals actually have decent outfield options already (Brock, Edmonds, Musial).
And let me say that while I use the Cardinals as my examples all the time I want the same things for all the teams.

Tom Herr had like eight homers and over 100 RBIS one year, that always blew my mind. Sometime in the mid to late 80s.

Never underestimate the effect of having Vince Coleman (110 SB), Willie Mcgee (56 SB), Andy Van Slyke (34 SB) and Ozzie Smith (31 SB) in the lineup also. The number of times those guys got on base and got themselves into scoring position, coupled with Herr's .302 batting average and team leading 38 doubles, gave him a lot of opportunities.

The entire team hit 87 homeruns and made the World Series. They weren’t even in last place that year for team homeruns. The Pirates had 80. I looked them up to see exactly how many Herr had. It was 110 RBI on 8 homeruns.

That is amazing to think about, less than 100 home runs and still having success.
