Adam Wainwright said many times that when he retired he would get a dog for his kids.

So as a retirement gift the Cardinals worked with his wife and one of his gifts was.

So, when it came time to fill out his retirement notice to MLB he had only one reason to give for his retirement.

I have to assume that this is the first time that reason has appeared on an MLB Retirement form.
