Career Tribute 9/29
-
The schedule lists Career Tribute coming on 9/29. I am surprised nobody mentioned this but any idea who this career tribute is for. I assume Miguel Cabrera since he’s retiring. Was this mentioned in the streams and is just common knowledge? I only watch pre-launch streams and could be out of the loop.

I hope Wainwright would be another.
But no, we actually, as far as I know, have no idea what it will be. I am kind of dreading MLB 2024 and having no Pujols, Molina or Wainwright.

I hope that career tribute is a surprise late Pujols reveal but I doubt it. Could be Rolen, just made the HOF and had a great 2006 post season.

If it is someone like Pujols or Rolen they will probably be behind the 12-0 event wins paywall. Anything to make people spend stubs this year.
I doubt we get anyone new but i can deffinetly see a Wainwright, Cabrera, even Kershaw being involved.

I dunno now. Cabrera is definitely a good guess. Dude never got a milestone 3,000 hits card and he's been pretty much ignored thus far other than his finest card since he reached said milestone.

If it were someone like Pujols or Rolen and the entire thing is about their career the 99 of them would be behind the paywall and the lower tier cards would be attainable. Highly unlikely to release a new person at this point in the game though.

Cole Hamels just officially retired so he could possibly be a part of it
-
Be cool if it was blitzed out McGriff card
(I’d be happy with any of those others too!)

There is no way, in my opinion, that they are revealing any more desirable legends. Not when they could have used them to get people to spend their stubs on those players all year long by introducing multiple cards in multiple sets.

Completely agree. Just wishful thinking. I think it’s some special for Miggy since he’s considered one of the greatest hitters of all time. They’ll sprinkle in guys like Wainwright, Kershaw, Verlander, etc…
