I guess it’s just me, but when I play with directional and use power, with lower vision cards, I have a lot of swings and misses. When you're on zone and use power, the pci gets smaller.

I’ve heard people say it helps with timing windows. I’m just not buying it. It seems like it’s only a crutch for people to foul off 20 pitches an AB which I guess does make a difference, but as it stands, it should either be removed from the game or given a new purpose like they did with Clutch.
It definitely affects timing windows, I tested it out a lot cause I didn’t believe it. One reason of not the main the timing windows feel like a roulette table at times IMO.
The rest of your post I agree with 100 percent, absolutely no reason to have it in the game, besides timing which I don’t think ot should affect it. It’s main purpose is to cause foul off after foul off. They know this and will never remove it.

How did you test it? I’ve seen no difference between using someone with 100 vision or 50 vision. If anything I feel like I actually hit better with lower vision players but there can be a lot of reasons for that.

All I know is that, at least in the past, I have always performed worse with low vision guys. And I always play beneath HOF level.

Not just you... I use timing with analog input, and it seems to matter a great deal. Certainly there's variance as to how I perform, hand-eye-coordination-wise in each at-bat, but in the thousands of ABs I've had, I'd assume things regress to the mean; I hit 20 to 30 points higher with high vision guys, who not only swing and miss much less, but seem to be rewarded with good contact more when I get the timing and location correct.

Try using the power button to hit and see if you notice a difference. Look at the size of the PCI when you do it.

It is in the game handbook, it says vision helps with more favorable timing windows.

Some of us don’t play below HOF so they can’t remove it.
Oooo mr. big shot here.
Lol. No. I’m hardly the only one who plays above HOF and I don’t on every mode.
Well the point of this post was to hear opinions on if it actually effects timing windows or performance outside of just fouling pitches off.
I think it works together with discipline. I don’t think the rating is independent.
According to the handbook vision helps with more favorable timing windows and discipline helps to trigger the animation where the hitter gets out of the way when a ball is about to hit him.

Took a LS card of player (Jazz was one) and took their best card. Went to BP with my normal sliders, legend FB jacked almost to the max, Selected inside heat only. Started with the best card went till I was warmed and timing it up for a good 20 count. Switched to the LS card, usually face degrom. I was constantly late could never time it up good. Tried all types of players.

I believe you but it’s hard to think that translates the same to DD. I’m using the HR Derby Kris Bryant that has 37 points lower vision than his 99 and feel like I’m hitting even better with the lower vision. I’ve noticed this with Trevor Story cards too. It’s not just solid hits but perfect/perfects which would require better timing.
But for the previous posts, I can definitely see how it would make a difference for timing/directional users.
