Some of them should’ve been core guys in my opinion like Babe and Chipper for example. I like the idea of set collections I just wish they didn’t become unusable online.

Grieg is already an example of a card that will see a card from set 1 received a set 2 card so there will likely be many set 1 player cards that get set 3 cards.

The only downfall is if a lot of cards you like are season 1, and your don’t have cards you like using in season 2 and 3 or cards you’re not as good with, this could be an issue for some. But , I’m more of a wait and see person because it is year one.

The cards we used to earn in April-May were not endgame. That is the difference between now and them.
Agreed, but I still have WBC Trey Turner, Charisma Griffey, McNeil, Biggio on the bench(for the C secondary), Chipper, and HRD Longo in my lineup.
I also bought Posada about a week ago! I love my team!
I do play offline, so it shouldn't be an issue, but if I played online, I'd be torn! -

Can people stop with this reasoning? People quit using cards from April/May because they were mid-high 80 overall. These cards are end game level cards and if you use a Theme Team you will need these cards to have a complete lineup.
It’s an unnecessary idea that was implemented just to make people have to use more stubs. If people really don’t want to use cards from April/May, then let us decide that ourselves. Having cards expire is one of the dumbest things SDS has done in DD.

Can people stop with this reasoning? People quit using cards from April/May because they were mid-high 80 overall. These cards are end game level cards and if you use a Theme Team you will need these cards to have a complete lineup.
It’s an unnecessary idea that was implemented just to make people have to use more stubs. If people really don’t want to use cards from April/May, then let us decide that ourselves. Having cards expire is one of the dumbest things SDS has done in DD.
While i agree completely with this, SDS did this to stop people from building a 99 team in the first month for BR for instance and then never changing their team for the rest of the year. The concept is a good one but the follow-through has been completely flawed because of all the 99s released on day 1. It's just made the game boring. Each season we collect the same 99s all over again. For instance we have 3 Manny Machado's, at least 2 Larry Walkers (i don't care if SDS uses a different name for the Incognito cards it's still Larry Walker) 99s from the beginning at least for me was the biggest mistake SDS has every made.

I don’t think people are blowing it out of proportion I think there are a disproportionate number of people here who will rubber stamp and cheer anything SDS does to the game.

Jury is out for me until we see what Set 3 looks like. I'll definitely miss some of my Set 1 guys, Rickey has been huge for me and probably won't make my wildcard slot because of Chipper, but if Set 3 is really solid I have a feeling I won't care much. It could be nice to switch things up and try some new cards.

I think people need to change their pov on this thread part of DD we love is building our team from nothing to amazing and with the start of Season 3 that kinda happens because of the change and set 1 no longer eligible.
The complaints about losing so many good cards is unknown at this point because what if a good amount of these cards are replaced right away. Let's take Rickey Henderson for example in Season 3 he has a new card be part of RS rewards all of sudden he's right back in the fold and maybe be slightly better.
The same could be said for cards that were in packs the now cycle in as TA Rewards. There are alot unknowns in how this all works so to be all negative why not try and be positive

My main complaint has always been my Cardinals theme team.
7 out of the top 10 Cardinals in the game are set 1.
5 out of 6 of the 99 overall cardinal cards are set 1
We lose our only pitching captain, Wainwright, and whatever parallel levels you have earnedThere is little doubt in my mind that to use this team with Season 3 content on July 7th, it is going to mean using a lesser team in season 3 than I have in the earlier seasons. I can't say I am thrilled at the prospect of going backwards
How much that affects me? We will see.

If that’s the case then literally the only reason SDS did this was for everyone to rebuy the same cards. How is that any different not having Sets at all?

Me neither, the only remaining set one players is Trae, Rickey, Biggio and Ruth. They all have 40 plus HRs with Trae leading 94 HRs.

I have only played one RS game, quite a few event games though. After I finish this May POTM program (Just got Freeman) I probably will dive into RS to try to grind for that Dawson card. There isn't much else that I want to do in the game at the moment. That is not to say I have completed everything, far from it. I haven't touched the WBC program, am at 30 points on the Kaiju program, and about 60 percent on each TA.
I wish we had two wild cards. Chipper will be my main one, but the 99 David Justice is an end-game card, I don't care what anyone says. I have him at P4, close to P5 and his hitting is great, he has diamond fielding in RF and a good arm. But I hit 165 set 2 cards last night and took Hank, so I guess he will be my new RF.
