Man imagine being on a video game cover and they still got you as an 85 overall lol How will you feel about it?
Same way Javy Baez felt in 2020?

I’m also really surprised Mookie has never been used.
More surprised that they never used Pujols. Right at the time they started making the game under this title, Pujols was in his prime winning MVP three times and coming in second two times in a 6 year span.

This makes me happy. I never played any of these games. The last game I played before the Show in 2021 was High Heat in 2000-2001.

I wish they had featured the new NL players as the cover athletes. Buck, Rube, and Satchel (and Jackie, obv) are some of the best and most important figures in baseball history.
On the other hand, Jazz has been all promise and not a ton of results. He’s as flashy as he is underwhelming, tbh. D-backs fans are quite happy with how that trade worked out for us, thank you very much.
EDIT: I just checked Jazz’s Baseball Reference page and I was really selling him short. He has actually led the league in one category in his career… he had more CS than anyone else back in 2021.

Copied from the Roster Update thread because it seems relevant here.
Yeah, their apparent plan is to just ignore Jazz so he can stay a diamond. He has not been a part of any roster update at all yet.
His ISO is .174 compared to last years .282 but no power stat decreases
His SO% has gone up from 27.4 last year to 32.7 this year
His BB% has gone down from 8.7 to 7.6
Yet his vision and discipline remain untouched. And lets talk about that 90 Clutch rating
He is batting .191 with 2 outs and runners in scoring position
He is batting .160 in games that are Late and Close
He is batting .179 in Tie games.
He is hitting .095 in High leverage situations
He is hitting .233 in Medium Leverage situations
He is batting .280 of low leverage situationsDoes any of that shout "I am a 90 clutch batter"

He's still on the DL. They won't upgrade/downgrade a player on the DL

I’d just like to say “Bahahahhahahahahaha”, to that. He must have 125 in base running depression

@Dolenz_PSN it shouts something all right…

absolutely mate.... it screams that SDS has preferential treatment and their rating system means only what their employees feel like putting into a card based on friendships and nonsense factors

If you’re not from the Miami area, or a Marlins fan, I doubt many people have ever even heard of Jazz. Even playing this game religiously; and being a big baseball fan. Jazz isn’t even someone mentioned or know well in baseball. It wasn’t a good cover athlete’s choice this year.

That's the problem with needing/having a cover athlete.
Remember when Bryce still hadn't signed, so he appeared in a hoodie on the cover!
Baez wasn't a standout. There was no clear choice then.
I don't Madden anymore, but think. Who could be this years cover? Mahomes again? Daniel Jones? Lol.
If Jokic wins a title this year, will he be on the NBA 2K 24 cover? Ja Morant? JK
If Florida wins the Cup, will Matt Tkachuk be on the cover with a mouth guard sticking out? -
I like jazz but I think acuna or vladdy would have been a good choice. A young proven player who could use the money is who I would look for but I don’t know how difficult it is to get someone. Hopefully Jazz gets going and has a good career
-
I think Acuna being hurt and Belli falling off, and J-Rod only being a rookie, was the reason Jazz got it, but I do like watching Jazz he’s fun.
-
Jazz should have never been the choice. I’m a fan of him, but he just simply isn’t even close to a “face of baseball” type player that should be a cover athlete. Between that, music selection this year, these ridiculous nickname cards….SDS tried a bit too hard this year to seem “cool” and i don’t think it’s working out too well for them. A for effort though!

Really?
Jazz played only 60 games last year and his last game happened in June. Acuna Played in 119 games last year. So Jazz was more injured than Acuna.
Did anyone even bring up Bellinger?
At least Julio won ROY and was 7th in MVP voting.
And there are 30 teams out there it is not like those four were the only choices?
I think the issue is that they committed to Jazz too early in the season before his injury and there was nothing they could do to change it later.
