Having guys with 900 ratings play on legend is awful. Both teams get 5 hits and the score is 2-1 or 3-2. Maybe it's just me, but I try to avoid making World Series as long as possible because I have zero interest of playing on legend.

its supposed to be hard to get to 1000. Not easy. Legend is part of the grind.

Why can't they just keep pitching and hitting sliders the same throughout the season? I mean it's not like joe 150 rating is going to have a chance in the odd matchup against a 900 level player.

I am playing the 2020 game, and while there isn't a ton of online action there is enough to keep me going to try and get cards I need through online play.

Every once in a while I get thrown into an unwinnable situation. I played a game that after one inning was so lopsided I quit and sure enough he was a 1200 level player to my 400.

There is no way I could have beaten him even with rookie level sliders. Player ability would decide that game every time, and I am not even close to that good.

If they had one set of sliders for everything you wouldn't get guys sandbagging into the lower divisions to "sMasH NoObs" or pad their stats.

    Agreed.

Having multiple divisions with varius pitch speeds, varius pci sizes, varius timing windows, etc. in online RS does not make for consistent gameplay. In addition, Momemts, Showdown, BR, Events, all have different Sliders. Factor in latency, and you have a very unpredictable online gameplay experience.

I'm not sure why anyone is opposed to this tbh. HOF is pretty much universally agreed upon to be the best difficulty but anyone that plays HOF/Legend games and it would get people to actually play after they hit WS. Over half of the WS players stop playing RS upon hitting 900 and the window HOF games are played at is just too small. Moving legend back to 1000 is far better than moving HOF up to 600

I played a HOF game yesterday and won. Next opponent was over 900 so played on legend and lost 3-1. Game after, back on HOF and lost trying to figure out timing again. Thats was the worst session I’ve had. No fun

I'm on board with having Legend start at 1000. Those are the comp guys, let them grind out legend games for the leaderboards. Let us normies just fight for WS

I think AS is too easy, HoF is too hard, and Legend is ridiculous. The gap between levels is too wide.

I think there are 2 issues as to why a ton of people stop playing rs after they reach ws.

First is they don't want to play on legend. I do think legend should be 1000 or 1100+. Second is rewards. The RS rewards after you reach WS just are not worth the time. Why would I want to play 10 games on legend to get to 1000 for a coin emblem? Add in like 50-100k stubs and you would likely see more people doing it.

Just because this individual was a 1200 rating in a 3 year old game doesn’t mean he is good. It just means he doesn’t want to have to relearn a new game and get used to the online changes in the current iteration. My guess that guy isn’t a 1200 level player in this years game. The field is larger and all the elite players are playing 23 not 20.

Sometimes that is true. I had a game against a "900" level player who bunt danced and cheesed the entire game. In the case of the 1200 level player all his guys were hitting over 400 with tons of bombs, tons or RBI's and he was almost super dotting on the mound.

Yeah like I said, he doesn’t want to learn a new game. He has the timing windows perfected and can feast on the limited field that is playing that game. Once they close those servers in the next year or so he will become an ordinary player or will choose to stop playing the game all together.

Possibly. I will say that while guys like that are a nightmare for me, I have gotten slightly better, even if I still do suck as a hitter.

Is the 23 game really that different though to a guy in the 1200 rating for 20?

Yes, significantly different. The first thing is the pinpoint pitching. 20 didn’t have it. Hitting is slightly easier this year than last but you still have to adjust to the pitching which far more accurate and rewarding than 20. Anybody that is chasing those kind of rankings in a dead game doesn’t have an interest in relearning a new game with different mechanics. They’re just exploiting the small field of players still playing. Once SDS shuts those servers down they’ll comeback to earth and get a dose of reality or quit altogether like I said before.
