I just happened to come across a YouTube video “Evolution of MLB games (1996-2023)” I kid you not people the graphics that I saw of MLB the show 16 to current the show 23 it was literally not much different I cannot believe this company has been getting away with this for so long lol it’s mind blowing

But they are also still making the game for the same console they made it for in 2016 (PS4). The original PS4 did not automatically get more powerful and able to handle better graphics. For all we know they did all the MLB captures on the PS4

As someone who is on a PS4, and had stopped playing since the PS2, honestly some graphics really are NOT that much better. Most of these are not that important to me personally. Regarding the players and uniforms they look better, but some of the faces don't really look that great. The scoreboard player photos look very "PS2".
If you look at the pine trees in the Colorado hitting background during the between innings shot it looks like something someone copied and pasted from an 90's photoshop. The stadiums look good, but on some outfield "grass cut patterns" I can see the line where the grass inserted image ends and where the line for the next inserted image begins. Sorry I lack the terminology to properly describe this or look at the flower bed in the Yankee Stadium monument area and it also looks really weak.
But the worst of them all, and the only ones that truly bother me is when you get a close up of a player in the on deck circle or between innings, the fans look like something out of Tomb Raider 1.
Again, The game does look overall better than when i played many moons ago, but even for a PS4 it does not "wow" me either. Then again, I am just glad to have a console and am playing again.

There are some people that take any negative critique of the game personally because the game is a major part of their lives. It is like you are criticizing them directly and not just expressing an opinion on the game and how it could and should be improved.

Don’t hold your breath because you might die. This won’t happen until they make more money on current generation consoles. Until about a month ago you couldn’t just walk into a store and buy a PS5 or XBox X series. If you got lucky you could find an S series but you where better of with an XBox One X than that.

Did I not say up there the show 23 has good graphics I actually love the Show out of all the sports games but I think the graphics should be better than what they are. And if we did tell them what could and should be improved you think they’re going to listen to us ? I highly doubt so you can’t even get a response from anybody any of them on here so how are we ever going to get our point across to them when they ignore us

I agree and that’s why I’m hoping it’s not the case but it is what it is whatever happens
SDS is still a small studio. MLB forcing them to make the game for MS and Nintendo doesn’t mean MS and Nintendo is throwing cash at them to help them make the game. In the case of MS if they don’t sell Microtransactions they have a large user base who doesn’t pay a single penny to play this game.
