Gearing up the hype machine for 23

OK... judging from the tone of the forum this last month, I know many of you are not super-excited for 2023... but I am. Two weeks left. Back to the grind. Back to flipping cards. Figuring out what "Captains" do. Seeing if I can actually hit vs. fouling off 23 pitches every AB. Attempting to use the new Button Accuracy, or determine if I'm just too old and slow and have to go back to "Button". Getting excited about every diamond pull and praying it's LS Trout (or maybe someone else this year). Seeing if any of my beloved Pirates can actually make it to a diamond (I'll settle for gold). Checking out the changes to mini-seasons. Watching people lose their minds when they collect the same non-sellable TA card twice (shout out to @SaveFarris_PSN and @Ericulous1_PSN )
Anyway... I'm ready.

Listen, I have caught something I deem the "MLB 23 Sickness", I play other games to try and pass the time, but I Just get bored as I look ahead to the release of 23.
I can't find happiness in the taste of food anymore, my dog disowned me, I feel desperate for a fix of 23, I cry in the shower.
Ok maybe not that dramatic, but the top sentence is def true.

My enthusiasm is tempered by the fact that I've got to work 3 of the Early Access days and thus won't be able to partake of as much goodness as I normally would.
Being responsible stinks!

I am getting more excited
The WBC stuff yesterday got me hyped cause I love this tournament especially right now 6 am baseball is great.
I have my digital deluxe version order on switch and will grind like crazy that first weekend.
The DD stream is where I'll likely get most hyped to see how programs work this year, mini season changes sound promising so lots to look forward to.
I think them admitting that the past structure was getting lazy and worn out has me hopeful for some new ideas this year but will hold judgment.
I think part of my lack of excitement comes from just playing DD for so long and it not be a challenge anymore I just know how to do it so if they make it were I have to learn new tricks to succeed then I'll get super hyped

I'm hyped to try something new with the content. I played '20,'21, and '22 with the same old structure.
Wasn't thrilled by the new "set" tease video, but I think they saved it IMO during the feature premier mainly due to the "wildcard" option to use on any player from any set. We should be able to have a pitcher and hitter wild card tho!!
Finally invested in next gen and looking forward to downloading stadiums. Hitting was also promising in the tech test.
Thankfully, I've played long enough where I've done the whole "grind 99" non-stop getting every card thing. I'm looking forward to grinding, but also just taking it slow knowing you don't always need every top-tier card to compete in ranked.

I’m ready. I’m bummed I’ll only get in 2 of the 4 early release days because I have to be in San Diego on the 28th. I’ll have my switch with me, though, to play on the ride home. I will be on at 9 pm on the 23rd to soak up all the baseball I can get before we leave.

Definitely looking forward to this year. I bet it’ll be much more fun than 22 which was fun but a step back from 21.

Me: I’d like to thank all my friends on this forum who stood by me during the hard times. When I couldn’t obtain Alomar and TA disappeared in March of 22. We did it!

Can’t wait for the unhandled server exceptions, really hope that feature wasn’t pulled from the game this year.

If it's anything like the tech test the gameplay should be a lot better and way more immersive. I'm all set to go on the 24th or whenever early access is.

Yep this joke of a company can't and won't give that mode selectable uniform options. They behind their cash crop DD makes no sense.

Just recently I've started getting excited again. Maybe it's because baseball has started again. I know there are some questions about this new one and things I'm not sure on yet (captains, sets/series/seasons) but its cool to have Negro League storylines and I love they added the World Baseball Classic. I might not even make my own uniform this year if I can rock the full USA. I wish the game was out now since the WBC is going on. I haven't played The Show in more than a month as I waited. That might be the longest I've gone without playing in 4-5 years (could be a sign of how content tailed off at the end of last year, too).

I lucked out this year. My boss told me and one of the other supervisors in my building about 2 weeks ago that we each had an extra vacation week that we had to take before May 1st. I chose launch week so on the 25th at noon, my 10 day vacation starts.
