Sadly this will be the first year I won't be buying MLB The Show.

I have purchased MLB the show day 1 for every year...but when the ps5 came out I expected PS 5 graphics and not PS4 graphics with just better resolution. I still supported SDS and bought the game. However, on this 3rd year we should have gotten PS5 quality graphics. I feel SDS is taking the lazy approach and has started doing what MADDEN has done to it's NFL game

Now I noticed 2kSports is going this same route with its PGA game....BUT now it will hv EA joining the market with its own PGA game . Did anyone see what the graphics look like for EA's PGA upcoming game? DAY AND NIGHT (graphics) compared to 2ks current version...Oh what a little competition can do.
Hopefully SDS will address this flaw and take more pride in their game...or at least charge 39.99 instead of nearly 70 bucks for a little more than a roster update and some small new features.

    This is a garbage take.

First off, the changes are huge. Negro Leagues, WBC, new stadiums, new players, new uniforms, a presentation and DD overhaul.

If you're one of those "i dont play DD types", theres a franchise presentation tomorrow. As far as graphics go, the stadiums look great. Not sure how much better you think they can look while they're still supporting last gen though.

Enjoy your year off anyway and we'll see you next year.

I agree with the op…im tired of cross-gen. We need to see the power of the PS5. I’ll wait till it goes on sale.

OP is totally right. I have seen several screenshots/videos and it confirms my suspicions that SDS spent all their budget on negro league. While that is a nice touch, it barely scrapes the surface of their impact, and with that you get a significant step backwards on graphics to go with your pricey roster update.

I was borderline considering it if I were to somehow finish 20 (probably won't be able to at my skill level) this year, but with what I have seen I am better off not getting it.

Right now what I have seen is the power of the PS2.

Can't even have wind in a baseball game let alone updated graphics.

Need to cut the old gen cord and move on.

PS4 still has a North America install base 3X larger than PS5.
And XB1 has 3X the base of XB S/X.

Much as I wish they could, Last Gen doesn't appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.

IT isn't the PS4 that is the problem, they are just greedy and squeezing every penny out of the suckers willing to purchase a product that gets weaker every year.

Yeah - 4K @ 120 FPS is just too low.

Just wait. Sony announced that the PS6 is targeted for a 2027 release date. That means in 4 years time; the PS5 may be equivalent to a PS4.

There has been no announcement official or otherwise from Sony.

I saw that article you are referencing, part of it is guesswork because in that piece of memo any dates were redacted.at the most I think it would be an expected date(and we know the track record on expected or plans to...) I'd take it with a grain of salt, they haven't applied for copyrights or patents yet(that anyone has reported about)

Release the game on PC and allow to mod it and modders will fix the game if Sony won't.
