I hope MLB turns in to 2K

I saw this and was so confused until I realized it was sarcasm. I feel like we don't give enough props to SDS for not falling into the pay to play style that EA and 2K are.
sarcasm is veiled hostility - someone trying to be edgy here - i would like to be optimistic at this point - we all have been let down by SDS over the years for tons of things - they have also done a lot of good - at this point hopeful optimism is a nice way of thinking

I buy NBA2k and The Show pretty much every year. I've never owned every player in 2K. SDS makes it way easier to compete online. Yes it's a grind but it's obtainable. 2K is not a friendly to no money spent players.
-
The Show is still pay to win to a certain extent but MUCH MUCH better than Madden or 2K.

Spending 2K to buy the best cards doesn't matter if you can't hit a ball.
I could spend 2K and get beat by a team full of silvers from anyone in the top 100.
It's not pay to win.

Can you explain how this game is "pay to win"? You can spend all the money in the world on the best cards at launch and still get smacked by a normal person who's just grinding the program. People who throw out the "pay to win" nonsense are really just blaming their failure on anything they can think of.
Money doesnt buy skill.

Heck no mlbts is not pay to win at all. I obtained every card in the game on PS4 as a NMS. I built a stacked all 99's team on my secondary PS4 account. Then I bought an XBOX series S a month ago and started over fresh instead of porting my PS4 progress over and I have a stacked team and have unlocked Jimmy Rollins as a NMS.

Exactly. I play 2k too. The amount of free packs they give you in 2k pales in comparison to The Show. It’s even worse this year. Up until this year, you still had to use contracts. It’s a fun game and well made but look up micro transactions in a dictionary and you’ll see a picture of nba 2k.
I really never get the complaints about the show.

Sure, Happy too…You are correct - If a person is just terrible at the game then yes it doesn't matter how good their squad is. But let’s take someone that’s a solid player, Not great but solid. Say they never buy a card and just play with the cards given along the reward path all year and finish with an online h2h record of 50-50. Then the next year this same player decides to go all in and buys all the best cards from day one…That same player will probably go 75-25…By definition that player is paying to win.

I mostly agree with the complaining about 2k games, but wwe2k22 was a rare exception. If you like wrestling games, their card collection mode was actually pretty awesome.

It definitely had the most variety and was the only mode that actually had any challenge but it wasn’t perfect. The fact that so many legendary skins were locked into that mode was dumb. It also just lacked depth, it was a good starting point but needs improvement

I have been playing 2K for the first time ever and got into My Team, their version of Diamond dynasty. I bought the game on sale as something to do until The Show comes out and have been playing for a couple weeks. I have to say, that The Show is better than 2K in almost every way. 2K is crazy complicated. (I’ve quickly grown addicted but that’s beside the point). All the different cards and sets that come out weekly almost, the several different tier types, the badges and shoe boosts, duos, etc., yuck. I hope The Show doesn’t get too out of it crazy like that. It’s not good. Their “seasons” are not as good as The Show’s “programs,” too. And their auction house is so bad compared to The Show community market.
It’s absolutely pay to win there and all they do is try to entice you to spend money and buy packs. I’ve been sticking to NMS there (as I do here, too, frankly) and you can absolutely tell the difference. It’s all about the micro transactions. So bad.
It’s AI game play is not good either.
It’s weird. I’ve gotten into it, but I can’t wait for The Show in a few weeks. Miles ahead of 2K in almost every way.

Just watched the DD show on Twitch. Captains cards, sets, and the little random game for unlimited programs sure sound like they’re pulled from 2K. Please, SDS, don’t copy 2K. @CBrev47_MLBTS
