So excited…

My wife just accepted a job offer in Chicago and I can easily transfer there with my current position (I work remotely). Shopping for property currently. Likely to be within 10-20 min of the Friendly Confines.
Let me offer a little context. I’m a huge Cubs fan that grew up in Cardinals country, 5+ hours south of Wrigley, in southern Illinois. If I’m lucky I make it to Wrigley every other year. Most of the Cubs games I’ve been to were at Busch. I’m imagining regularly throwing on my blue hat, walking out the door, and taking the L to see a game on a beautiful sunny day.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my excitement with some fellow baseball nuts that can appreciate it.
Has anyone else had a similar experience, living far from your favorite team and then moving nearby? Did it live up to the hype in your head? Any (soon to be) fellow Chicagoans that post here? Would love to share a cold one in the bleachers sometime!

We did the opposite. I grew up in SoCal going to a lot of Angel games. We moved to NorCal and I miss going to those games…a lot!

taking the L
Yep, he’s a Cubs fan all right!

I left that hanging there for you.

That’s awesome man. Wrigley and Busch are at the top of my list. Glad to hear you’ll get to see your Cubbies and they’ve got some exciting pieces now in a weak division. They (like you) are on the move.

Yea dude. Should be a fun year. Defense is top tier and pitching has a lot of depth. Losing Contreras to the birds will hurt, at least on the offensive side. You’ll love him. He plays with passion.
