The year is winding down. Most of the top cards are out. What notable players both flashbacks and Legends do you think will still get a top card. Here are just a few I think we'll see.

    Flashbacks-
    Rafael Devers
    Justin Verlander
    Emmanuel Clase
    JT Realmuto
    Ronald Acuna Jr.

    Legends-
    Fernando Valenzuela
    Lee Smith
    Andrew Miller
    Willie Mays (better 99)
    Lou Gehrig (better 99)

Those are just a few. Anyone else?

Why won’t you add Kenley Jansen to your list? Did he get his 99 that I don’t know about?

Hahahaha, sorry. Ok Kenley Jansen. You're right. I keep thinking about who will get a Finest this year but Kenley should get a MS or RF 99.

I would love a 99 Biggio. I would like to see a lot of these players. Nice list.

Edit: Doesn’t Fingers have a 96 overall Takashi card?

I still need a lot of old-timers, including Grove, Mathewson, and good versions of Mays and Gehrig. I have been playing for several years and I think we have only gotten a 99 Spahn (or at least about like 95) one time? Not sure what they have against Spahn.

I know it sounds silly, but I kinda think we still need an end-game Frank Thomas. His Awards card is still awesome, but last night I was updating my All-Time Sox roster and the RF Konerko and 2022 Finest Abreu are both better than Frank (Konerko is clearly better… I can’t remember all the attributes but I think Abreu compared more favorably than I would have expected). I’m a Sox fan so I won’t say anything bad about Konerko or Abreu, but I will say Frank should have a MUCH better card than either. Even if you have to do something unconscionable, like giving him a MS card in a Toronto uniform, that’s fine. We just need a juiced Frank! And now that Randy and Clemente have new cards, there’s no reason to think the high-tier LS collection rewards are the end-all be-all.

Definitely these 3. I'm hoping for a 99 Kris Bryant and Jake Arrieta too.

Not usually, but I sometimes make a Diamondsox team with a mix of Sox and d-backs.

The diamondbacks have traded an enormous number of prospects who eventually turn into solid big leaguers, so i could probably make a good team of guys who have passed through AZ at some point in their careers. But it would be hard to put together a good team of players who are actually on AZ cards. But I guess that’s fair since, they have only been around for 25 years and they usually suck.

I'm lucky that my Pirates have 100+ years of history, since the last 20 or so have been pretty... What's the word I'm looking for... Bad.

There have been some rough years in Pittsburgh recently, that’s for sure. And that’s gotta be frustrating as a Pirates fan because the NL Central appears to be very, very winnable. No one seems to want to mark their territory over there, so any one of those teams could just open their wallets, make a few trades, and put themselves in a favorable position. The cardinals are good, but not THAT good.

I wonder what’s the most frustrating scenario — being a fan of a team like the Diamondbacks or Marlins and knowing that no matter how much you spend and how well you trade and how well you develop your young talent that there will always be 2 or 3 juggernauts ready to outspend you… or being a fan of a team like the pirates or the reds, where you know the division should be up for grabs but ownership refuses to make the big plays?

Come to think of it… I’ll say the MOST frustrating scenario is being a fan of the White Sox, where you’re clearly the best team in the division, you’ve made good trades, signed decent FA’s, and then you still get embarrassed by a bunch of rookies playing for a team you outspent about 5-to-1.

Baseball, man. Why do we do this to ourselves?

I agree that it’s reasonable Frank Thomas deserves a better card. Out of the three big LS series collection cards, he was the only player who clearly got a card that wasn’t as good as his cards from the last few years. He always had max contact and power vs lefties. I was shocked that Randy Johnson got another card; it turned the LS collection into mostly cards for the Mantle collection. Until they put out a second Mantle, haha.
