Switch Hitters

So this may be a dumb question. It applies more to actual baseball vs The Show.
I got the new MA Mondesi card and he has drastically different splits R vs L. JRam is another good example. Why wouldn't they just hit from their stronger side instead of switch-hitting?

Let’s take Mondesi. He’s batting .240/.279/.396 career as a LHB. Were he to turn around and hit RHB against righty pitchers, there’s no guarantee he hits the same mark as he does RHB against LHP. Likely, he’d hit worse.
Ergo, he switches.

You should be able to choose and decide which side you wish to bat from for Switch hitters cause as we know some switch hitting batters actually hit better vs LHP or vice versa or might just feel more comfortable from one side then the river …I duno it would be KooL to just be able to decide

I get that, but is there a tangible example of that? You'd think the mechanics of the swing would be better from 1 side vs the other.
